Re: ins_sinjar IMC discussion
We played this a little while back and got completely trodden as the Insurgents on this map, the Marines seem to take Alpha so quick, and don't even talk to me about Delta (theres no cover).
Are people really finding this difficult as the Marines ?

As more players learn the objectives I think you'll experience what Vulcan and I did. The insurgents can hold that hill incredibly well. If the USMC doesn't get to the Alpha Ojbective within the first minute they have little chance of doing so later.

Well, the less players, the easier it is.
On a full load, that map is a nightmare because EVERYTHING is covered. A modern equivalent of D-Day.

Re: ins_sinjar IMC discussion
yeah I think the maps are just to small right now for 18 players.

Re: ins_sinjar IMC discussion
And the view/fog distance is just too short for larger maps.
There are a couple controls for that... r_zoverride and r_mapextents or similar. They're flagged as cheat so players can't use them, but I think they are for pushing the back clipping plane. If the server were to adjust them, it might solve the problem of seeing the edge of the world. I know That One Map With The Arabic Name is terrible about that. (It's the one with A on one side, and B/C/D in a row on the other side.)

Magna> I think the fog is map specific.
That map with the mine (Karkar?) doesn't seem to have any fog. From just past the USMC spawn you can see the entire distance past the wood building.
