Tonight, I'm going to create chaos!!!
As I was playing last night I was struggling with a little boredom. It's not that I don't just love playing with you moofs it was the gameplay. I guess I had an epiphany of sorts and realized that I've been playing primarily AAS since JO came out. All the constant fighting for spawns have left me somewhat jaded. Well that's going to change.
Tonight, I'm all about chaos. I don't care about kills or captures, I just want to cause trouble. I'm going to check out the maps and find points for a little guerilla warfare. I'm thinking bridges might be a good start. Claymores and satchels will rule tonight ![]()

I have a meeting at the fire hall at 7, I will be on around 8:30 Atlantic Time. I believe I am an hour ahead of most here.

We could even act as "bait" for each other. I'll run screaming and you guys can pick off my attackers

Sorry JB, I didn't see you last night. I won't get a chance to be on tonight so let's shoot for Wednesday.

Bear let's do this. Maybe go on one of those 150 player servers and pick an ambush spot, get there, set it up, blow something up, then try to get home safe, repeat.

Re: Tonight, I'm going to create chaos!!!
I've officially switched my default loadout to Engineer with satchels, shotgun, and just enough ammo for my weapon to be Normal weight.
Really looking forward to seeing and making so spectacular explosions tonight. Word to the wise: these things have a surprisingly large kill diameter, even when under 10+ feet of water. If any of you guys are doing the satchel thing tonight and on my team, I'll try to stick with you and learn a thing or two. |

Correct. These satchel charges have a very satisfying kill zone. Just get it near something and it will take it out. I use them not only to ambush roads but also waterways as well. VERY EFFECTIVE! Just take the kill zone and measure out. that is how far it will also go up. So that is the deepest water you can use.

@JBRanger - so the kill radius is cylindrical? How odd, if true. But it does seem right, based on limited testing of my own. I think my testing is incomplete, though. Surely they wouldn't model it that way over spherical, would they?

)Mmmm... Doughnuts Rather than going home though, why not reload at the enemy base. I always do this and it's surprising how easy it can be, though some maps make this almost impossible. I'd really like to get together with some peeps to surround a base and coordinate some effective booby-trapping. With 3 guys that's 6 satchels and when one guy runs out, whilst he's going to reload, another guy/girl takes over, etc, so you have a constant stream of satchels being laid and hopefully no point where no-one has ran out of ammo. If you are deep behind enemy lines and you loose a team mate - try sneaking into the enemy base and re-equip as a medic lol - sneaking into the base is a LOT of fun. |

Re: Tonight, I'm going to create chaos!!!
Oh one other point, myself and Riyker tried dropping satchels from helo's. It seems the satchel drops as soon as you press the fire button (not at the end of the animation of you throwing it). They drop straight down from the point you press the mouse button.
We found that helo's you really didn't need to be that accurate but the APC's you practically needed to drop them on top of them. Load up on a helo with 2 peeps and make some runs against ground targets. When 1 of you runs out of charges, swap positions. The charges can only be detonated when they hit the ground. ![]() |

Re: Tonight, I'm going to create chaos!!!
Yea, the idea of the charges explosion area being cylindrical is on my own testing. No hard facts from Nova or anything. LOL!
Satchel runs in helos?!?! OMG! Now, THAT is funny!! LOL! I can see it now. "Is that helo a gun platform?" "Negative". (Helo swoops down) BOOM! LOL! Great stuff! I use the charges in reverse. My favorite is to place them in waterways. Completely invisible. Here comes a boat. BOOM! Or even better is to use a helo to take you near a boat sitting stationary. Use the drop technique on the boat. BOOM! MMmmmmm, tasty. *salivating at the thought* |

Wow. This sounds like fun! How'd it turn out for you guys?
I'm still unable to connect with JO...all my efforts to work past my firewall have failed. I'm bummin' too since I just put an ATI Radeon 9800 XT in my rig. Hold on...I think my computer's on fire! ![]() |
