I installed the latest patch and played a few maps online ........ didn't affect the way I play at all, but some players in Australia are not happy with it, I told them to give it a chance and be a bit more flexible with thier playing style.

Re: JO 1.4.17 Major Update Released
I rarely had a loadout that consisted of both the 203 and an AT4/RPG7 so this patch doesn't really change much for my play style at all. As long as the knife is still available, I'll be just fine. :-D

Re: JO 1.4.17 Major Update Released
I really wish they would address the infinite ammo issue with the vehicles.
I also think the whole sniper shafting is pretty lousy. There needs to be at least one scope level that is in between looking at a little dot on the horizon and closely examining the dot's nosehairs. It really takes alot of fun out of sniping, particularly because when it zooms in THAT close, you have no choice but to go even further away to get a more broad view, thus removing you from the game and making you less of a teammate.
Not to mention, when you DO spot something and scope in, you lose site of the target and have to flop around like a fish trying to see it again. The naked eye and the scope dont necessarily have you looking at the same point on the map. Is this the same hill I was just looking at, or is this one further away? It's very frustrating.

Re: JO 1.4.17 Major Update Released
I was hoping the same luna but at least they gave the guns on BTR and Stryker some recoil, same thing on attack choppers - so you can't just hold the trigger now for so long and be accurate. Overall, it hardly affected the way I play as I'm a regular gunner and used to heavy recoil, I hardly snipe too so I don't miss not being able to zoom, though I can sympatise with snipers ..... back luck guys, you just have to use binoculars now to scan for target.

Can you still zoom the designator?

Re: JO 1.4.17 Major Update Released
I use my binos often, always have. Yes, the designator zooms. Here's the problem, though. When swapping from binos to rifle, you do not look back into the exact same spot. So, you're searching and searching with blinders on, 10 feet at a time. I say it simply needs 2 settings- I'd be more than content with that.

Correct me if I'm wrong but before the new update, does the ground shake when the explosion is close?

I'm not sure- I'll have to check that out.

Re: JO 1.4.17 Major Update Released
I don't remember the ground shaking before. And honestly, I don't recall experiencing it with the new update either.
But then... I may not have been paying attention either way.

Re: JO 1.4.17 Major Update Released
As near as I can tell this patch is making it even more of a game and less of a sim. I was hoping they would go the other way. But hey, the dumbest buys the mostest.

Re: JO 1.4.17 Major Update Released
How can you tell? This patch broke more things than it fixed. It wasn't much fun at all... Not being able to hear grenades. Not being able to hear/feel rockets impacting near you. Not being able to revive teammates that should be revivable. Not hearing/feeling RPGs impacting your armored vehicle. Not hearing a missile lock on to you when you're in a helo. Resetting your keybindings and player profile.

OK, I'm done ranting. Novalogic should be ashamed for releasing this to the public in this state.Become a supporting member!
