Release date DELAYED...
Well...
I guess we all had to know this was going to happen, because every single software developer puts out a release date and then enjoys pushing it back...
This title was due out mid-May...they have officially changed the release date to a vague early summer...
----------------------------------Calabasas, Ca (April 28th, 2004) – Entertainment software developer and publisher NovaLogic, Inc. today announced that the squad based, large scale multiplayer combat title Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising, will now be released in early summer, 2004.
Set in Indonesia in the near future, Joint Ops is set to be one of the largest multiplayer FPS games ever released. Developed using NovaLogic’s enhanced Black Hawk engine, with superior multiplayer technology, gamers will experience the smoothest 150+ player games ever played, even with a 56K connection.
In Joint Ops gamers will join the ferocious struggle between Joint Operations Forces and Indonesian Rebels, where team work is essential for survival and ultimate victory!
· Explosive 150 + player games! Play in games of over 150* players online via NovaWorld®, or host up to 32 player games online or over a LAN.
· 29 Land, Sea & Air Drivable Vehicles – Cut through the water in a Mark V boat, rain hell fire from above, while piloting an AH-6 Little Bird, or smash the domineering Stryker through enemy territory and a lot more!
· Take out the enemy & defend with valor with 35 modern-day weapons! Deliver a deadly long range message with a shoulder fired Stinger missile, or kick-ass at close range with the M4 rifle with optional M203 grenade launcher.
· HUGE unprecedented jungle environments! Wage war across maps that span up to 64KM2, with viewing distances up to 1KM
· 5 Classes to Choose From – Fight as a Rifleman, Engineer, Gunner, Medic or Sniper.
Joint Ops, for the PC, will be in stores early summer, 2004. For more information on the game visit the Joint Ops web site: www.jointopsthegame.com .

Re: Release date DELAYED...
Well, that's too bad. On the positive side, it can't be more than 6-8 weeks more. If they need that time, I would gladly let them take it to make a better initial release.

I agree.. take another 3 months.. dont release some ****e that's gonna need a 1,000 meg patch the first month out.
--- I got an email the other day that EB was doing a free shipping on pre-orders of this game , 49.95 was a little steeper than I was hopeing for though.

Re: Release date DELAYED...
They've had such a great demo ... it's not likely they'll have a major patch. Not likely.

Re: Release date DELAYED...
well, the demo seems pretty polished, aside from a few bugs, maybe they found some sort of security hole they need to re-work? (anti-cheat)
Regardless, I'de rather wait a bit longer and get a solid game, than have to go the RvS route.
