Official Trailer/ New Demo Soon!

Hey everyone.

Just keeping you informed on the new happenings in the JO world.

First, NovaLogic has released the official in-game movie from the final version:

Check it out HERE (you can download or stream it)

Notice the blacked-out button on the menu? Seems that a new demo is on the horizon that will showcase gameplay as it is in the final version. It is unclear whether or not this new demo will be available before or after game release.

Here's an interview from HomeLAN Fed, with JO producer Joel Taubel, mentioning the new demo and some of Nova's future plans with the game (new maps are definitely going to be released in the future!).

READ HERE

Better check your weapons and vehicles...it's going to be an action-packed gaming summer!

nice

Although the vid didn't have much new to it (other than massive #'s of vehicles) and the interview didn't mention coop, it still looks sweet.

Screw coop with JO. It doesn't even sound good from the little bits I've heard. AAS is where it's at with this game. JO won't compare to GR because the TvT is where the devs worked on the most. It'll be great once the game comes out and we have new maps to play on.

Re: Official Trailer/ New Demo Soon!

wow...

this version is pretty cool.

some of the differences I saw:

--No more grease mark for the chopper guns, you get a real HUD-like aim-point

--Rets are changed for stationary guns

--Armory is now activated by "shift" (not 0)

--New armory interface, easier to see/read

--re-vamped spawn screen

--damn tips come up all the time

--New map is sweet.. the layout reminds me of the UT2004 demo layout... bases criss-crossing, but you can only attack one connected to one you've captured. (you spawn at a dock, not a base, with lots of vehicles.

Re: Official Trailer/ New Demo Soon!

I haven't played it much yet...(I actually have some RL stuff to take care of today).

My very initial impressions:

PROS:

-Map looks good. Colors seem more vibrant and water looks better.

-Sounds seemed more crisp, but I had effects volume a bit high...

-Game loaded very fast

CONS:

- This new map seems kinda small to me.

-Game seems more "run-n-gun". Bases are closer together and map has a flatter layout. Seems to be fewer places for snipers to hide, and less reasons for enemy to stop running...Also, less of a reason to use vehicles...

-Go to your options and take off game tips...they just popup on your screen as your trying to zoom in on a target. VERY distracting.

Just some initial impressions...I haven't had a chance to play in-depth yet..
