Missing character types in armory?

Need some help....

When I view any armory in an on-line game, I can only select Medic, Gunner and Sniper.

The other character types (Rifleman and Engineer) do not appear as an option to select. I can't find anywhere that I would have turned these character types off under the player defaults, so it must have something to do with the weapons selection I've chosen combined with the host's setup?

I even set my default player (off-line) to rifleman, then enter a game. When I look at the armory screen, I keep that option as long as I don't replace it. Once I replace it with Sniper, Medic or Gunner... I can't set it back to Rifleman?

Not sure what else to check......

I thought this was very odd when you mentioned this yesterday. It should cycle through all of them. I'm sure there's nothing wrong on your end as there isn't a way to stop yourself from choosing a class. On the server, it could be set to limit a class to a certain number. I don't think Opus set any class limit.

Re: Missing character types in armory?

Ok, I just picked two servers, other then the TG one....

On the first one (Co-Op), I had exactly the same problem as the TG server. On the second one which was a TvT type server, the armory showed me all classes with no problem.

It must be something to do with the common factor of Co-Op and a host setting, as it relates to my set-up?

Just out of curiosity, how long did it take you to switch to the sniper kit?

I saw this thread and ran into the LR, bottom lip quivering, and told my wife "Badger has JO!" so I think I'm about to beat her down on this one and get this game.

Another home wrecked by the Menace up north...

Ok, latest patch seemed to fix my armory problem....

Now, all that I have to do is figure out how to get better then 5-10 fps and I might be able to play this game....

I have a 1.7 Ghz Intel with an Nvidia 4600 (128 meg) card and 512 megs of memory.

some kits are restricted on the server.

If it happens on all servers you join, it may be an issue.

I set my game for 'Performance' in the options. Not noticably that different (in graphics) but it goes but a little smoother.

Make sure you turn off everything in the background before playing (i.e. messanger, ICq, etc) and free up as many resources as possible.

Your system looks fine.

Re: Missing character types in armory?

Ok Badger, now all we need to do is get you on TS2 . There is apparently some sound problems for ppl with onboard sound known to NovaLogic, which might be the issue your having (unless you've resolved that since too).

I'm glad the armoury issue was resolved--I know for a fact that there were no restrictions on. Besides, in your case, if I was going to restrict anything, it would have been the sniper, just in case we ended up on opposite teams.

Hope to see you in game again soon.

Re: Missing character types in armory?

I woulda thought Badger had a PVI 8GHz with 9gigs of ram and a direct link to the internet Backbone

Seriously, some may be playing on specs that low but sounds like time for an upgrade.

I'm not sure you'll ever get good FPS with that system.
