Yeah, before people started figuring out the tighter rets when scoped, the game was incomparable to anything else. The fast and furious, but delicate CQB fights were insane. I've taken a vow to never use a scoped gun again in RvS. =) IF i ever play again, that is.

I played JO for about 9 hours straight today. Wow it was fun.

How do use a scope in a cqb environment? Yeah for those long shots but you cannot run around a building with your scope out. (This topic really needs to be split and continued in the RVS forum ). For TvT then scopes would need to be restricted. Having never used this glitch(?), I cannot include it in my evaluation of the game but it is certainly stupid that you can run with it up and there's zero scope movement. This is still the best and most realistic CQB game out there.

Anyone know if any people play the retail game?
LOL just put up a server and almost instantly you'll have people joining. It really is that quick

If you're going to get the game (if you still can), grab the OFP:Game of the Year Edition. It come with resistance which is practically required. This game is really old, but there are still mods and missions being made for it. The US army have used it to train with (in fact they mostly use another program, developed from OFP that costs $150.00 - I forget the name but security forces use it as well)

Eh, running around a bulding with a scope comes down to a matter of knowing the maps by heart (like me, for most of them). I can almost navigate any map with my eyes closed, as long as i get to see my start location. No joke.

I put up an OFP demo server on Gamespy Arcade and no one joined--because there are no people in the OFP rooms on Gamespy Arcade, lol. I made an internet server just through the game browser, and still no such luck.

    =\

And yeah, we should really move these discussions to their proper forums.

Told you it's fun but if you want it to be more challenging and a bit more realistic, use the most inacurrate weapon like the M240 or PKM, they kick like hell and so inacurrate if you don't know how to use it properly. We all know that games will have bugs and glitches that makes them more unrealistic, but it's up to us not to exploit them if we want extra challenge, sometimes we even agree to play like knife/pistol/guns only to make it more challenging and fun.
