    Reality Mod tweak

    Disabling menu music

The current version of this mod has a menu soundtrack playing that some people find annoying/distracting. This is compounded by the fact that it does not respond to changing the music volume in the audio options.

There is a quick, easy fix for this.

In your Joint Ops/Expansion/Reality folder you'll find the mod files. One of them is called main.bik.

    1) Make a backup of this file and save it (just copy and paste and it should just make a Copy of Main.bik file right there. This isn't especially important, but I am a believer in keeping any modified file backed up in case there's need to revert to it's original form. Your choice).

    2) Delete the original version of that file.

    3) Create a new blank text document and change the file name to main.bik.

Now, when you run your game, it will find the .bik file is 'empty' and ignore it.

    Viola! Nice 'n quiet!

EDIT: You can also make a similar tweak for regular JO to turn off the startup movie, and menu videos. See this thread for how to do it.

    Re: Reality Mod tweak

Ensuring that default kits are enabled at the start of a map

A player over at Brutal Arts says this is how he (she?) always has weapons when going into the mod. Involves starting mod from within regular JO and following his instructions:

"Ok when you're at the start menu you go to players. Set your charecters weapon loadout. Click OK in the lower right corner. Then go to Options and turn on the mod so you get the new music and background. Notice that the Skin is back to default in the player menu? Now set him how you like, and click OK. It's now set on both the normal JO:TR and JO:R. So when you join a server it has a set loadout. Once I did this I havn't had a problem since."
