Map1
The game opener started out bad for the opposing team, where Boot got caught upstairs in the apartment with the rest of his team already dropped down through the hole in the floor. Boomed and unable to push back the horde, Boot was dead early in the round. With hunters pouring down the alley on fire and a well planned boomer divebomb towards the end, the rest of the team was unable to reach the saferoom as Reader (who died last) fell right before the metal door leading to the heath kit room.

Our team did not have any issues though we did have a close call at the alarmed car, as well as Makaveli throwing a molotov at whiskey while attempting to cover the stairwell right before the saferoom.

Map2
Well guess what. When Boot's team attempts to run to the ventilation shaft at the start of NM2, Boot gets caught by the smoker. Our boomer sprays the other three as they keep running. I pounce down and follow the other three towards the end of the ventilation tunnel and pounce the closest guy, while our other hunter pounces Boot as a follow up. The boomer also joins in on the fun and pinballs the survivors further away from Boot. With 20 some hp left while still incapped, the survivors attempt to pick him up only to be foiled by a lingering zombie. After taking a few more beatings from flaming hunters, their team made it all the way to the two-car train right after the ammo table.

When it was our turn, we were able to reach the same 2-car train that they were stopped at. Just as we exited that train a tank showed up. The other team did not engage with the tank (as we prepared ourselves in the train) and left the tank in the basement area (with the breakable pillars). Once it was on AI, they placed both hunters in the dark room to ambush us from behind. Unfortunately we called this and took them out once they spawned. We lit the tank on fire and retreated into the train. The tank being AI, climbed above the tank and jumped down behind us splitting us into 2 teams of 2. Fortunately the tank died soon afterwards as the opposing team tried to follow up with a smoker/boomer combo back in the dark room. Though we were pretty hurt, we did reach the first aid cabinet and was blessed with 5 pipebombs to last us through the streets to the saferoom. I believe Makaveli threw a pipe bomb that landed ontop of the alarmed car which set it off, but we were able to survive regardless.

Map3
Boot doesn't die immediately this time, but instead he suffers a traumatic death at the hands of a tank later on. Their team found advanced weapons in the garage and proceeded to the lift. Instead of holding out underneath, they followed the lift up and managed to camp out above medkit room where the hole is. Unable to deal much damage to them, we pulled back and planned a few attacks later in the office rooms. Undeterred their team advanced towards the stairwell to the sewers where they encountered our tank. Instead of engaging them in the long hallways, we instead put the tank in the T section after you drop down into the sewers. During this time we kept attacking them to whittle away at their health so that our AI tank would have an easier time. They choose to drop down at the Red Room sewer entrance. Here our boomer hit them as they came down. One of their guys got split and ended up below the area you drop down to. We kept dumping hunters down the hole to hit them. After they felt more safe, the guy who was below them moved out to clear a path. This would be Reader, who ended up as a tank sandwitch at the corner (the tank was positioned to engage as soon as someone turned the corner). The other three were now holed up with no room to run and a tank climbing up to them. Needless to say, they also got boomed, and AI tank had no trouble punching them down. The tank then did something really wierd, it strangled Boot instead of punching him. I'll get a screenshot the next time I see this happen.

When it was our turn, Boot wanted revenge. Our team followed the same path as they did, and fought our way on the lift over to the med kit room during the event. We did not trigger the tank above the sewers. As a result we made the decision to drop down the white sewer entrance onto the pipes. Makaveli and I got boomed on the pipes from below, and had a hell of a time fending off a horde. This move triggered the tank!! At the same time Cookie was pulled by a smoker above the sewer entrance, but luckily Whiskey had not fallen down yet and rescued him. The tank did not engage us here (we were under a lot of stress), but we soon found out why. While guiding our team through a maze of tunnels, we reached the ammo room but found no ammo and had to backtrack to the corpse. By this point we figured the tank had been placed above the ladder exit. This turned out to be Boot's suggestion as they had also placed the tank behind the car so that it could incap anyone coming out of the ladder. Perfect right? Not exactly! So we formulated a plan to bait the AI tank into fire, and run through a bunch of tunnels to avoid any special infected from picking us off. This plan worked perfectly as the AI tank jumped down the ladder into a river of fire, which by then we were about a mile away through a bunch of long tunnels. The other team made the mistake of engaging us in the tunnels (after we had backtracked close to the ladder), which allowed us to climb above the ladder and make our way to the saferoom...except they knocked two of us down right outside! Amazingly enough, both of our guys were picked up (I had 2 hp left before whiskey was able to get me up), and all 4 survived again! I had even managed to pick up a health pack right before getting into that room.

Map 4
Determined to put some points on the scoreboard, the opposing team rearmed themselves and prepared to reach the hospital roof. The director however, didnt agree with Boot surviving and dropped a tank for us at the start of the round after their team reached the first stairwell. We pulled the tank back and put him in the elevator closet . Though we hurt them somewhat, they were able to make it cross section before the elevator relatively unhurt. This is where they slowed down (as in started walking around looking for the tank). They had "confirmed" the tank wasn't on their left (it was indeed on the right), but not everyone was in agreement (this is what I got from their steam chat). Unfortunately we began to harass them and eventually one of them passed the closet the tank was in to get ammo. The tank proceeded to munch on a Reader (?) sandwitch before getting downed. The rest of the three then hit the elevator (briefly grieving over his death) and ran into the closet. Boot got slashed and was incapped while in the closet. He was picked back up but knocked back down with hunter/boomer combos. Though he was carrying pills, he was killed outside the elevator as he was black and white. With just two guys left, both were hit by hunters outside the elevator.

When it was our turn, the tank (not sure if it was AI or not) attacked us in the stairwell. We were not 100% prepared but we did manage to juke it twice (jumped around and over it) until we could crawl under the stairwell. Needless to say, the tank was down rather quickly after some focus fire. We had no issues either, though we chose to use the ammo bed instead of the closet which proved to be very effective. The witch up top after the elevator was also easy to kill utilizing some height advantages. Again we were able to survive.

Map 5
We planned an early attack, but this was foiled by a tank spawn. Whiskey delayed and separated one of their guys, but we were unable to follow up for a kill. Since we spawned for the tank, we were still respawning as they rushed the ladder. Luckily Cookie (or Makaveli) pounced their first guy down the ladder so we were able to spawn up and deal some additional damage. They hurried to get off that roof only to leave Boot (??) behind who was hit by a hunter up top and subsequently killed, lol. The others were boomed in the radio room, with Baka being strangled by Whiskey (I think) for a good 15 seconds before the other two figured out what was going on. They were then finished off by hunters.

When it was our turn, the tank rushed us head on and we engaged him in our stairwell/saferoom after getting a few shots on him down the hallway. We were able to then kill a few special infected allowing us to get above the ladder without any troubles. For the finale event, we utilized the stairwell strategy to much success. I did get a little greedy (by attempting to plug the tank from climbing up) and almost got knocked off the map. Makaveli picked me up however for a 4 man rescue, all on Advanced versus!

When you guys are "placing your Tank"...how does that happen? Do you just run to where you want the tank and then after the Aggro meter runs out the AI will stay in position till triggered?

I'm disappointed I missed this one.. I got the invite and quit my match but it was already full.. grrr..

Nice writeup Avs! For our part I would say we had trouble coordinating most of the round. As survivors we did a better job of not getting strung out in the later levels and I would expect to die as we did, but we never really got it together as infected. I know I missed a lot of opportunities with bad timing and from the VOIP on my side I think my teammates all felt the same. It just wasn't our night, but it was fun nonetheless.

This was odd. I was the hunter crouched by the car and you guys shot it at least 25 times before the pipe set it off.

Well you either faked or first meant to go down the red entrance, and I thought my vomit fountain out the top was the reason you went the other way. I didn't have my bile up by the time I followed you to the white side, but you were kind enough to shoot me right away.

Actually it wasn't my suggestion to put him up top, but I was the second controller and I put him there to hit the car as soon as you came up the ladder. You played it well though, and I think our comment was 'stoopid AI tank'.

We should have waited at the top, but we figured we'd make it harder for you since you were back in the sewers. As soon as I spawned behind you you raced back to the top though, so we only caught up to you at the entrance! Here's you guys just as the rush ended.

That was a good placement. We could hear him grunting but couldn't see him. We had to actually engage at close quarters before being able to use the mollies.

It was worse than that. I was out of shottie ammo so I crouched and spammed melee. My teammates were doing the same and it kept pushing me out of the closet into the horde. Next thing I knew I was down, twice, and when they picked me back up for the elevator dash I went to take my pills and accidentally handed them to Baka!

I'm not sure who died on the roof, but I made it to the radio room and was trying to save Baka when I got incapped myself. All I could see was zombies and 2 propane tanks, so I must admit I shot the tanks to end the round.

So it wasn't our night, but we will have our revenge!

This is when you let the rage meter run out of the tank twice, so that humans give up control to the AI.

The screenshot accurately depicts us hitting the car multiple times. Unfortunately, car alarms cannot be triggered from a certain distance (in this case, from the windows in the apartment complex. Knowing this, our team shot at the hunter in front, though we almost triggered the car when the smoker pulled us to it.

Initially we were going to drop down the red hole. But before you had boomed (we heard you spawn under there), and since we did not know where the tank was going to be, we decided to go to the white hole. What I was thinking:

1. If the tank was in the same position I had placed it, we could kill 80% of its HP as it climbed up to us. What I didnt expect was the boomer to be shot in front of us, knocking me down.
2. If the tank was not there, we could use the tunnels to fight the tank close quarters, allowing is to fire at it without having to worry about special infected engaging us from all angles.
3. If the tank was not down there, it could be in several other locations including above the ladder at the end. If it was, we would deal with it in the fashion described.

Placing the tank above there is a good idea. The best place (that I have seen) is to put it is behind the police car so that it is really difficult to trigger without sacrificing a person.

Ah ha, that makes much more sense.
