    Survivors guide for beginners!

Ok guys and gals again lets keep this organised with tips specifically for versus mode survivors to go along with the beginners guide for infected, I know some stuff might sound really basic but some people are sure to not know these tips so lets keep them coming.

    Teamwork:
    (1) Stick together in your 4, I don't mean on top of each other because then when a boomer comes you'll all be got but I do mean to be aware and within distance of each other.
    (2) Choose a partner at the beginning of a round, you are responsible for getting this partner up when they go down. This saves all team members looking for the one body on the ground and not covering or from the opposite of everyone looking outward and no one getting the team mate up.
    (3) use the time in the safe room to make a general plan if you know the map like, try to stick to the left wall or run to the nextbuilding then regroup, this cuts down the chatter on the move.

First tier weapons (pistols, shotgun, uzi):
    (1) Always search for that second pisol, when knocked down it really makes a difference when keeping the zombies off of you.
    (2) Wait for the zombies to come to you with the shotgun, you'll use less ammo this way since the zombies will go down in one hit.
    (3) Pistols can be used very effectivly to take out smokers and other onfected on rooftops due to their long range.

Second tier weapons (assault rifle, sniper rifle, auto shottie):
    (1) The sniper rifle takes a zombie down in 1 shot where ever you place it, forget about the head the belly is the largest target and there just as dead.
    (2) Remember to keep an eye on your ammo with the assault rifle it tears through bullets.
    (3) Don't waste ammo on close combat since the melee is just as effective.

    Thrown explosives (molotovs, pipe bombs):
    (1) Pipe bombs should be used when you have been boomered on and the rush comes, because you can't see this is a very effective way to stop you from getting hurt.
    (2) molotovs should be saved for tanks/witches so that you can light them on fire and round away.
    (3) Make sure your team has one of each explosive, their unique use means that when you get the chance pick up a different one to your team mate.

    Health (healing, health packs, pills):
    (1) Use pills for the extra boost in speed, hobble as much as you can but don't use the pills until you need to run from something or keep up with the team when they make a push.
    (2) Health packs should be used when you find a good spot to bunker down and cover the injured, don't heal up without telling you team mates.
    (3) Don't forget even a regular zombie can take you down when you are black and white so speak up to your team mates to get some healing as soon as your vision turns to shades.

Please do keep ading to this so we can keep it up to date.

    You miss spelled thrown .

You could add something in about how the SMG and assault rifle don't have penetration damage even if the zombie is dead.

Usually unless you are on 1 health or black and white it's best to keep pills for when you meet a tank so you can get away.

I don't agree with Second tier weapons (3) Especially with shotgun you'll get several kills per shot if the zombies are thick. The wave will pass quicker so there will be less time for things to respawn. Possibly that's more so applicable in Vs.

Aiming for the head with the SMG and AR saves a lot of ammo. For the SMG just fire a burst and for the AR just fire one or two bullets. This is of course only when the zombies aren't on top of you and you don't mind if they do get there.

The difference between the and dual pistols aren't huge. The pistols are mush more accurate but have a slightly lower rate of fire and obvioulsy pistols have unlimited ammo.

    Teamwork:
(2.5) Take it a step further. Whenever he goes into a side room, goes back for an item, heals, checks out that smoker behind, or is boomered on, make it your job to protect him. Though survivors work best in 4's, it's better to be in pairs than have one guy alone.

    And a general tip:

    Stealth. We have it:
    1. Flashlight does not affect outline visibility.
    2. Walking or crouching allows you to stay invisible.
    3. Running, jumping, taking damage, firing, meleeing, and all ingame survivor voice clips make you visible.

    Consider:
    1. You can hide from the tank, sneak up on hunters/boomers, and generally mess with the infecteds' heads by keeping your outline visibility to a minimum.
    2. Spamming "vocalize playerwarnboomer" is not only annoying, but it makes you visible 24/7.
    3. Except for the unavoidable "help me" screams, you can become avoid having an outline while incapacitated also. This may save you from a flaming hunter pounce, or give you a chance to shoot that flanking boomer.

Can you explain this a little more? How do you spam that? How do you avoid having an outline while you're incap'd?

To avoid the outline, I believe all you have to do is not shoot; though your character will still scream for help every few seconds, which can't be avoided.

I've found a pretty good way to deal with witches is to crouch down and sneak up on them with the auto shottie at the ready. You will startle them, but not until you're close enough to start blasting away. Aim for the head and as she turns around, mash that trigger as fast as you can. In 4 or 5 shots she'll be dead.

I managed to take 2 out tonight with no damage to anyone... but by experience you HAVE to hit the head for it to work.
