Boomer - Arc Pathing

In the link below you will see a debug of the boomer's bile arc pathing when used at different angles.

Pay attention to the range of the squirting, horizontally and vertically, and how to effectively hit people over objects which are out of your line of sight.

so puke's effectiveness ends at end of green line?

conclusion: most of the time, aim slightly above head level for best range?

In a sense, yes. Since the boomer's attack is persistent, you do not have to get the perfect angle immediately.

As you can see the attack does "taper" off however, so your aim needs to be adjusted while you are squirting, spewing, etc, on survivors.

Sometimes, when you boom survivors in a tight area, you will notice only the front people will get hit and not the ones in the back even if they are in range. This is because the spitting effect does not pass through survivors (with the exception that the boomer's attack hits an area, and any part of that area affect touching a survivor will tag him). Because of this it is always a good idea to move the aim sight around while booming (up down left right etc, in a circle) so you can cover a large area with the short amount of boom time.

Here is a clip of a boomer video giving out some tips that might be helpful. :

Re: Boomer - Arc Pathing

I just wanted to point out that post patch, the boomer arc is still as effective with a slight change:

Same maximum distance
Same duration of spew
Faster drop off rate during arc

What this means is that if you are attempting to hit far targets, you want to aim high immediately because that reach will not be possible soon after the initial spew. So in general, aim high so your spew hits far targets first, that is, if you are attempting to hit many targets (as opposed to the closest target where you would throw up on as close as possible).

Stealth nerfs make me sad. With the smoker range change also I thought I was just getting worse as infected. Thanks for the heads up Avs.
