Steam Error
The game crashed on me and when I tried it again, I got errors. I get the same message when I try to open Steam or L4D2.

Here, let me google that for you.
Exit Steam, navigate to C:\program files\steam, delete the clientregistry.blob file.
Yes, this is safe, the file will be recreated the next time you restart Steam.
