Hi,all! I'm Hawkins and I just joined TG. I played with a couple of TG members tonight and had a great time. They suggested I come here, and I really like what you're about (I read the primer). Considering the amazing level of immaturity (and worse) that this game seems to attract, it's great to be part of a group that focuses on team play.
Hello Hawkins. I'm glad to see you made it to the forums. Welcome to TG. We sure had some great rounds last night on survival with just the three of us. I know we'll do even better next time with a fourth. Let's try and get a gold tomorrow.
Start adding some friends to your steam list and you'll always have someone to play with .
Howdy all! Just joined up the other day, looks like yall are a seriously high quality group of players, something that I have had too much trouble finding consistenly. Actually, yall are probably too high quality for me (I don't run vs much). Anyways, looking forward to getting some schooling.
Also, my gamer tag is Necronic, when I joined the forum I misspelled my own freaking name. Guess I'll just have to live with that stupidity.
hi ive ordered left 4 dead and should arive in 2 working days so i thought i should intro myself to the l4d community im blade ive been at TG for a year almost but i was hoping that wen i got the game that someone could show me the ropes because from wot ive seen im not to keen on playing with the bots :P
Hey guys. I play a lot of CS with the TG crew. I'd love to get in on some L4D action but I never see anyone on the TG servers. Hopefully I can catch some of you online and get a game going!
guys do you need a payed stream account to play l4d on a pc online?
Steam is the player networking interface. You can buy game titles through it but that is not required. It is free and if you have the game on DVD/CD you will play through steam for free and get connected for games.

no i dont have a xbox>_>
Steam accounts are free.
You can buy games through it and play them. You can also play and download trailers of steam games and demos for free.
The idea behind Steam is to keep players games up to date. If you buy game from steam, steam will automatically keep the game up to date.
You can also stay in touch with your friends and join groups in steam community to meet like minded gamers.
VALVe (the game company behind steam) also gives out free content for their games. New maps, new weapons, new campaigns, new features and new gamemodes.
They also release small patches all the times to fix bugs.
Once there was bug after a big patch that didn't let players with certain video cart manufacturer start up the game. The issue was fixed within 3 hours after the big patch.
If something like this had come up with some other company that hadn't had steam to patch their game it could've taken them weeks and even months to put out a hotfix.
If you want to play L4D, of course you need to buy it just like with any other game. Playing it online doesn't cost a dime more than playing it on singleplayer, however this game is clearly multiplayer game, and I wouldn't have bought it for the singleplayer (the bots are dumb).
It should be obvious, but you do need internet connection. If you have dialup or modem, it doesn't count. The speed isn't high enough to support enjoyable multiplayer experience.
In a way it's like iTunes, you can play music(in this case games) through it and buy them, but you don't need to buy an iTunes account.
Yes it does support dual cores and I have played this game on both dual cores and single core. No problems.
If money is a problem for you (student or just poor ) you might want to wait for L4D2, as it's more full of a game than L4D1 is at the moment.
It'll be released in November 17th this year.
Eight months later I finally received the reports from three peer-reviews on my latest manuscript with the University of Toronto Press. This will be my third book with the same press and the second...

Rage makes a great case for using the VR as a place for training as a sniper. Virtual training rooms for training in virtual warfare.
This post is a great TG read:

Bravo Microsoft, you have now surpassed EA in poor decisions and once and for all seized the crown for the worst 'Reveal' ever. That EA were standing there on the stage with you when you did it was...
