Attention Virgins!! (so to speak)
I got the game last night, and played one intense, extremely difficult, very fun game with sparhawk, switch, and rincewind. In the demo, I played just one time for a couple hours with troublesome, mat552, and a couple others.
While these games were really, really fun, they were missing something: immersion.
The main "problem" was that each time, my teammates had tried that 'level' many times before, so they knew all the good hiding spots to defend against the rushes, where all the rushes happen, where the ammo is, exactly the best path through the level, etc., etc. This left me (and perhaps others) just following along shooting zombies; not thinking much. I'm sure I'll be at their level of expertise soon enough, but I'm not yet.
SO - If you're like me and are looking to immerse yourself in the game - where you're a survivor trying to escape this insane, infected city - where you don't know where you're going and don't know what's around the next corner....
In fact, add me to your steam friends list: whiskeysix. I'm looking for some good 'squadthink'. I think it'd be ideal to do the whole campaign with the same group of 'virgins', but that's probably not practical. (Oh - and I'm looking to play on hard [or whatever is one notch down from expert] until I make it through once... the 'unknown' factor will add difficulty!)

Agreed, the game has a much better feel when you play a campaign for the first time with others who are new to it too. Definitely much more suspense when you have NO idea what's going to happen.

Re: Attention Virgins!! (so to speak)
Yeah Whiskey I was grinding those levels out waiting for my original group to show up. We havn't beat the game we are on the last level of movie 2 Death Toll. We are having more trouble with this one then the first. I like Expert alot though.
I think it is by the time we really get into it Im drained from playing so late. As I type this I need to goto work and I'm very tierd. Damot! Even not knowing the map I would rather take baby steps all the way. Because you never know when the next horde is coming.
I would still like to play again. If you dont get a group while I wait just as a newbie you take the lead
You can still drive the team through the map even if they know it but you must lead them and they must follow :
FUN FUN

LMAO! Trooper.. you kill me..
With ya W6 - I finally got got spend about 2 hours in single player. tonight.. luv it.. A couple of points I was like "This feels like Duke Nukem 3D".. not the immersion part or anything (like there was any immersion in DN3D).. but a total blast.
Just paint the walls with zombie blood!

Yeah I hopped on multi last night with Portable.Cougar, Cola88, and disposablehero. Insanity is the only word I could think of. But like everyone else said, it was a extremely fun. I was lost when it got to the 4 vs 4 part the survivors vs zombies part.

Hey Whiskey!
It was good playing with you last night. As you may have noticed I'm definitely in the virgin aka n00b category. lol I was usually too busy trying to figure out what the hell was going on to even think about doing any serious squad tactics.
I'll try to get a friends list set up tonight. I did join the TG group so if you search for Bernout you'll likely find me. My screen name is |TG-MD6| Bernout, I think my steam acct name is bernout1.
