Kudos for the TG way
I just wanted to give a word of thanks to those who played Left4Dead with me today. My friend (playing under the name of leet3lite) hadn't played computer games in many years and it was nice to know that I didn't need to be even slightly worried about how he would be treated by gaming veterans such as yourselves, especially considering that he was even having to ask me how to move his character around at the beginning.
I wouldn't have considered permitting anybody else to join us normally, for fear that they'd scare the poor chap off computer games again by insulting him or just generally acting like idiots. But I knew I could trust the TG community so I left the game open for any friends to join me if they wanted. My friend thoroughly enjoyed himself and is looking forward to playing another campaign with those who were present.
My thanks go to DrBeat, Nathrael, BigEye and EuroWarrior (if I forgot anybody, please accept my apologies and let me know) for showing my friend that an online gaming community can be mature, fun and non-judgemental about playing skills or experience.
