Chracter Question
Why don't our character models look like this?

I've seen some posts, videos, etc. that have these as the models. I personally think they look way more badass. Is it just a difference in the release between Europe and USA?Proud to have served with the TG-Irr, TG-3rd, and TG-Mth

Re: Chracter Question
On the Left 4 Dead forums people say they were the original version of the characters. Personally I like the old Lewis better than the new one. To me I think they have more of a 70's look to them.

I believe those were the old character models from pre-beta stages

Re: Chracter Question
I wish they would have kept these models instead. I think all of them (except maybe Francis) look cooler than the ones they actually used in the game. Especially Bill and Louis! They look way more awesome in their beta versions. The shotgun shell bandoleer and tactical vest with the stars and stripe are just pimp!

Re: Chracter Question
I don't know, I think I like the...normality of the new characters. They all look like normal people, whereas these look like action-movie heroes, especially Zoey. On the other hand, they do look much more badass...

Re: Chracter Question
I think it was part to make them look more normal and also to make them more easily distinguishable. You can easily see who is who and it goes with the valve character design. Those characters also look really disproportionate.

Re: Chracter Question
Considering that they've survived 2 weeks of zombie appocolypse so far they should look bad ass.

Re: Chracter Question
Hm, Louis should look a little bit different in my opinion, he's a manager after all...but apart from that, yeah, it's really sad that these models aren't the ones that made it into the final game. They all look way better than the current ones (which still are nice though nonetheless).

Re: Chracter Question
The ingame people are less detailed which = better framerates for older comps. It's about lcd for most exposure of the game and market penetration. When the hordes come it gets very taxing on older machines so they wanted a playable framerate. HGL had problems with video card lag when demon hordes came.

The community wil prolly make skins for the Survivors and such.
They've already started with color changes.

Re: Chracter Question
I've been snooping around to try and find the beta skins for the characters but no luck yet. The only character skins I've found are ones that change Zoey's hair or clothes. I haven't found it yet but I'm sure there is one out there of her in a bikini, lingerie, or even naked.
/sigh, sometimes the computer gaming community can be so juvenile.Proud to have served with the TG-Irr, TG-3rd, and TG-Mth
