Update

Valve has bestowed a small gift upon us

Melee exploit is fixed and the tank hit point bar is fixed when the tank gets set on fire.

Time to get the servers updated

Patch Notes:

Updates to Left 4 Dead have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:

Left 4 Dead

* Fixed an exploit with melee where swapping weapons ignored the intended delay between swings.
* In Versus mode, the Tanks' health now reflects the damage he takes from burning.
* Fixed an exploit related to the "joinclass" command

"exploit" was an opinion more then anything else. It was essentially the same thing as using a script or just clicking fast to switch from the AWP to the pistol and back to the awp to quicken the reload in CS. You would bash, switch weapons, bash again. Switching weapons resets the animation removing the normal cooldown you get while bashing.

I'm glad valve fixed this, but it really surprises me as this exact issue is something the CS community asked to be removed years ago from that game and Valve just shrugged their shoulders and said "no".

I haven't ever seen a need to melee any faster. :S

Does this have to do with Verses? There was an exploit that people who where on the Infected could go to Spectators and then rejoin to spawn additional special infected.

If you were good enough at it, you could pretty much walk through a horde like a lawnmower.

This is correct. It was related to the spawning of bots by joining spectators.

I played with and against people who did that, it was not fair. However, when I fought against them, I accepted the extra challenge. (Even though it was impossible odds!)
