    ATTENTION: Servers temporarily down for maintenance 25.Jan

    We're making some changes to the servers this afternoon. We'll let you know when they're back online - sorry for the inconvenience!

    Also, there will be some reasonably significant changes in how the servers will be organized going forward. Be on the look-out for an updated server-guide which will be published once all changes have been tested.

    4 servers are back

    what does SG stand for ?

    I have downloaded but not sure where to put it, or more importantly if it will mess up my L4D original install in any way

    SG is Steam Group (only) servers. A bit off topic, but:

    Is it appropriate to use the servers to bring in 5-7 pubbies from a lobby (sv_search_key tgvsadv) and try to encourage/teach the TG way? I'm worried one of the admins might be reserving the servers for TG only games, and I don't want to fill up the wrong one.

    Absolutely! Great idea! We should have more than enough servers to go around now, with three coop, three vs, and a custom-maps server

    Also - in case it's not obvious, the servers are back online!

    DeadCity Installation instructions (Do this with L4D closed):

    LEFT 4 DEAD DEADCITY SERIES (BETA)

    THIS IS A BETA TEST (1-5) DeadCity Series, more maps will be available soon.
    You will need to have winrar or compatible extracting program.
    All files downloaded will be using *.rar (filename.rar).

    INSTALLATION:

    1.) EXTRACT: "left4dead folder" where you can find it.
    2.) LOCATION: "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead"
    3.) TRANSFER: left4dead --> LOCATION (Overwrite Files & Folders)
    4.) COMPLETE: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead\left4dead

    Make sure you don't double up folder...
    DONOT DO THIS BELOW --> C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead\left4dead\left4dead
