Left4Realism
Has anyone seen the Left4Dead forums yet? There's a guy who's trying to put together a team to make a realistic mod of Left4Dead called Left4Realism. It won't let me post a link, so you'll have to find it yourself. The website is left4deadforums.com

Re: Left4Realism
Interesting. I have always wanted a game similar to L4D and the Zombie mode on WaW. In the game I would like to see would have the coop players held up in a base as hordes of Zombies move in on them with the objective to to survive for a certain amount of time. While held up in this base to defend, others might venture out to get resources thus expanding things outside of the base and making those in the base cover the explorers.
The Zombies would be slower but take a massive beating each with head shots being the main way to take them down. Zombies would not all have to be human either, in the city you could have rats, dogs, and birds while in the country you could have wolves, bears, bobcats.
I am all about some good custom mods for L4D as with its gameplay, things are wide open.Battlefield Samurai 'Banzaaaiii!!!

Re: Left4Realism
Oh, no. "Realism" and "Zombies" in the same topic is NEVER a good thing.
A formula for disaster in L4D honestly.-F-

Re: Left4Realism
I don't think so. Just because zombies don't really exist that doesn't mean that you couldn't have fun in a realistic mod. Vanilla L4D rewards less methodical and faster gameplay, and so alot of the mechanics feel overly arcade-like.

Re: Left4Realism
I disagree. VERSUS may reward faster gameplay, but there are few (if any) video games where a methodical approach in taking on human players is a viable, repeatable path to success.
Truly, chess is the only example I can muster where a slower approach might be favorable, in any game. And even then, it's only "might".

Can't really pass judgment on it until they turn out some actual product.

Re: Left4Realism
I can see where you're coming from because when you're against human players you can't afford to just sit around and bring the fight to you. But, I still disagree; after all, imagine if you played Project Reality in the same ultra-fast, gung ho approach that seems to work so well in Vanilla BF2.

Re: Left4Realism
That is because PR is designed around slow realistic gameplay. Like Avs said can't really pass judgment till something comes out, but I'm not sure I like the idea playing a realism mod, just doesn't fit the game.

Re: Left4Realism
<shrug> IMO, coop on expert-mode is very realistic already! I think the only thing I'd change is to remove the hud all together and add an iron-sights view for the weapons.
