Looking to challenge Valve
Gentlemen.
I have sent an e-mail to Gabe Newell asking for a way to contact the Left4Dead team for versus match on our Advanced server.
Needless to say, if they accept it it would be 4 TG versus 4 Valve employees.
Im looking to build up "Kebab's dream team" of experienced Versus players who I know are better than me. Because my memory is what it is I know there are a lot of you but I can't name too many of you.
So let's have some versus games, hit me up on steam to have games.
I'll keep you guys updated on what's going on at Valves side of things.
Let's see if they are men or mice.
Thank you.
Up for the dream team:
Approved
Reaperassault
Lyramion
Up for it
Unload
Browna3
Eternaly_Lost
19th of March Valve took up the challenge:
Chet Faliszek
Mikko,
We are a bit busy currently with the SDK and DLC release, but post releae we would love to play you guys. I have played TF2 on your servers before and always enjoyed the community.
Thanks,

Bump up the difficulty to expert to show you mean business.

You might have more success w/ Doug Lombardi, whom I believe is Valve's director of marketing. Sounds like this might be more up his department's alley.

I went with Gabe because he has better trackrecord in reading and responding to e-mails.

Re: Looking to challenge Valve
You need to get Reaperassault and/or Lyramion in here. The stuff they can pull off is amazing in L4D. I personally wouldn't mind trying but I am the FLIPnoob so my chances are slim to none

Re: Looking to challenge Valve
Why would they play on an advanced server? That's kind of like saying 'btw, that forced update making versus locked on normal really wasn't the best idea for the game'. You'd have a better chance just playing them on a normal versus match like it was intended to be played.
I would imagine they will probably do something like this with the community again during the DLC launch anyways.

Re: Looking to challenge Valve
Im familiar with their work. I wish they report here if they are interested, like reaper just did.
Awesome!
So they don't take critizism?
They are big men, they can handle it.
And yes, I that's why I bring this up now so we could have time to plan it accordingly.|TG| Kebab-Kastike reporting for duty. | Why? Tubes! The internet is tubes!

*** not intended to brag or boast so please don't take it that way ***
well for us that play on the 'advanced' server the normal server is just too easy, its all to common to hit 180 health bonus since there are/were so many health packs and so little damage dealt by the infected, I can see why Valve locked in a single difficulty for the majority of players (standard across the many servers, don't want a lot of people complaining that they can't survive). Advanced is certainly not for everyone but its a great challenge and more in depth experience in my opinion.Reapator, overlord of ponies
