Re: Left4Dead 2?
Looks more like an add on than a new game. Its fun every now and then but IMO the game fell far short of its potential. Personally I think the first game lacked depth and was too short.

Re: Left4Dead 2?
Looks great! A new content is always nice in my book. So i'll get this.
But i can understand people feeling a bit ripped off. The new content they talked about for L4D never really came.

Re: Left4Dead 2?
Guess the first game is left for dead now then, hardi harr harr. But seriously, wtf?? Only reason I bought L4D knowing how little content it had was that I was sure it would be updated with more content, but other than the survivor mode (which I do love), there hasn't been much added content to the game...
I won't be buying this unless it's priced as an expansion...

Re: Left4Dead 2?
I'm interested to see how AI Director 2.0 helps to keep the game going. Now that they've given him the ability to mess with the geometry of the level, that should at least prolong the game for a little bit, instead of the exact same level over and over with different horde spots...

Re: Left4Dead 2?
I'm also hoping they change/improve the server system to something easier to control.

Re: Left4Dead 2?
I'm definitely gonna buy this one!
Oh, and regarding the SDK: The latest Rock Paper Shotgun podcast was an interview between John Walker (of RPS) and Chet Faliszek (of Valve), and Chet said that the SDK will be released quite soon.

Re: Left4Dead 2?
You'd think Valve would put this in a patch or something but no. L4D has lost much of it's appeal to me and I doubt a sequel is going to help.

Re: Left4Dead 2?
I'm going to wait for more official information to be released before I pass judgement on this, but as it stands right now I feel Valve needs to explain why this game is going to be worth me paying more money for it. I want to how how this addresses the issues with l4d and why I should have to pay more money to get those issues addressed. I've never once felt like I was being "price gouged" for a valve product, but this one at this point feels like the first. This is not a typical valve move, and I think it deserves and explaination.

Re: Left4Dead 2?
All over this one. I've played L4D non-stop since I bought it. $50 is not a big deal for all the 100 of hours of entertainment it's brought me.
I love how game 2 is based in New Orleans, since I was born and raised just outside of there. I recognize all the building and bridges.

Re: Left4Dead 2?
I like L4D. I'm more of a coop player than Vs (although I like vs, it's ok), so I'd prefer more in coop. I'll probably buy L4D 2 (esp. if a bunch of TGers are also)

Re: Left4Dead 2?
The only thing that bothers me about this is that the L4D team put DLC into left for dead and have NEVER used it, they could just add this stuff through the DLC instead of making a whole new game

Re: Left4Dead 2?
Another thing to mention is the changes to the AI director and the way maps behave with the changing of geometries. For map makers: why start a map now when it will be rendered unusable and obsolete by the new AI director? I think the late release of the SDK and this announcement could put a damper on map making.
