Snare speak to TG versus servers?
Basically what it does it creates voice channel between survivor and infected when they are in close contact, such as when smoker pulls Francis that smoker can speak with Francis on voip.
While playing through campaign on versus talk about this 'modification' came up. I remember Kizzer (correct me if I'm wrong) saying that he had played on a server with it and thought it was fun add on.
What do you guys think? Should be test it on our versus servers?

Re: Snare speak to TG versus servers?
It is interesting, but not sure how uh "realistic" it is... uh...
hmmmm well, maybe it is... it's a fricking zombie game.
I think it would be cool. I wonder if it only works on CONTACT or if it's a radius
like a hunter pounced on you would work, but not one slashing you

Re: Snare speak to TG versus servers?
It only creates channel between SI and Survivor when they are pounced, boomed or pulled. Your whole team can hear you talk, only difference being that the survivor you are ripping to shreds, booming or choking can hear you as well.
It's kind of like in Splinter Cell multiplayer when the spies could grab the mercs and talk to them.
EDIT: Whiskey thought we should try it. I suggested that we could install it for all of our L4D versus servers for next week and see what people think about it - keep it or not.
EDIT2: I'll move this thread to more public place for people to see it.

Go for it! If nothing else, you can plead with the Hunter for your life. Sounds like fun.

*Hunter Scream*
*Thump, Shredding*
Hunter: "IMMA GET YER NIPPLZ"
*Coughing*
*Slimy tongue noise*
Smoker: "OMNOMNOMNOM"
*Burping*
*Barfing*
Boomer: "Oh, oh god, no, not again BLUEUERRRH"
Oh god, I can see it now. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

More like friendly taunts
*Smoker pulls*
"Come back here, I want to show you something."
"Trying to get away from me, were you?"
"Wanna... hang out?! Hahahahahah!"

Well, yes, with TG players, I guess it would be more likely to go that way.
With pubbies who don't know any better, you could probably expect some of the above to be more frequent on servers that have this add-on.

Re: Snare speak to TG versus servers?
It is a fun add-on, just be warned that you cannot coordinate with your teammates while this is active. It might be better to have an option to push to talk to the survivor that is different from your normal communication key, otherwise you cannot give your teammates commands without tipping off your survivor.
Another fun add-on I've played with are Perks servers. Survivors and Special Infected both get to choose from sets of perks which change up the gameplay a bit. Here are all of the perks I can remember off the top of my head:
Survivors: Martial artist- no melee fatigue and runs 10% faster. Demolitionist- starts rounds with an explosive and can carry up to 2. Revive teammates in 3 seconds and they get back up with 10 additional health. Default health is 130. Chem Resistant- Pills give you an additional health boost. Reload 30% faster. Shots do an extra 20% damage.
Special infected- Hunter: Leap 20% farther. Pounces automatically do at least 9 damage. Secondary swipes do 5 damage. Pounced swipes do 2 additional damage per swipe. Move 50% faster. Boomer: Booms call more zombies than normal. Boomed survivors cannot see their HUD, and vomit recharges 20% faster. Move 10% faster. Smoker: Secondary fire releases smoked survivors and snare recharges faster. Smoke range is 20% longer. Tank: Tank moves 30% faster. Tank punches and throws rocks 30% faster. Tank spawns with 1000 additional health.
These are rough estimates of what I remember, the point is that you have to choose from a pool of these when a round starts, survivors get 2 perks from 2 different pools and SI only get 1 per infected type. This is obviously a big departure from a normal server, but I think it is a nice change of pace for those of us that are getting bored playing the same matches all the time.

Re: Snare speak to TG versus servers?
S0unds pretty poop and un TG to just "randomly" open a chat channel. Sounds more suited for one of those alltalk style stoner servers.

Re: Snare speak to TG versus servers?
Well it is not random, the infected of course know when they are going to pounce, boom or pull.
I think however that boomer should have its ability to snare speak taken away. It's not impossible to boom all 4 survivors and relay everything they say to the infected.

I think maybe it would be better if only the infected could talk to the survivor, just maybe.
That way, the infected could have his fun and taunt his prey, but there would be no worries of survivors losing their plans due to the addon.
Maybe it's just me, though.

Then the infected would 'lose their plan'.
Only way to "fix" it would be to indeed have another push to talk key bind added to this.

While the 'fix' would be better, the infected who is already strangling someone is probably already initiating part of a plan.
Maybe it's too much work for too little awesome.

True true, but I don't remember survivors going over the plan while being ripped to shreds by hunter and being strangled by smoker.
They'll most likely yell: GET OVER HERE AND GET THIS OFF ME!
With boomer on the other hand I remember going over plan while boomed or as we got boomed.
