Left 4 Dead 2 Approved In Australia After Edits

Now, after a series of edits which removed "considerable amounts of gore from gameplay," Australia's classification board has given the game an MA15+ rating. Their new report (PDF) says, "No wound detail is shown and the implicitly dead bodies and blood splatter disappear as they touch the ground. ... The board notes that the game no longer contains depictions of decapitation, dismemberment, wound detail or piles of dead bodies lying about the environment." The unmodified version of the game may still be approved, pending a review that concludes on October 22nd.

Prolly the same as the cencored version for the German market. L4D1 had very low blood, if at all and bodies would instantly disapear into the void of child protection.
Then again Steam gave me a fully uncencored Version of L4D (and TF2) and I don´t rly know why

I think that's because you bought it before the law came to be, Lyra. Wasn't the law passed sometime this year?

and games dont make people kill people the only examples ive heard is " a boy killing his parents because they took away his halo 3 game" and the second a 5 year old killing his friend with his dads gun after playing GTA" who leaves a gun unlocked loaded and easy to find for a five year old to find blame the parents not the game plus ive seen films that are worse than left 4 dead Originally Posted by Kebab-Kastike

The thing is... my TF2 was all cencored.. no blood... all plush toys on gibed people... then sometime on xmas last year is suddenly changed and became all bloody and uncencored lol

In Finnish version this happened if your steam was in Finnish, if the horrible translation wasn't enough. Installing in English + loading from steam will fix this, but not sure about German /Australian versions. Originally Posted by Lyramion

Oh man. The BF2142 was the last game I installed in Finnish. It was pure horror.
