ms_force_dedicated not working anymore?
Hey everyone.
I started renting a L4D server with gameservers.com. It seems the two main ways to connect to your sever from the lobby is with sv_search_key or ms_force_dedicated options in the console. From what I have found sv_search_key makes your server private, meaning it can't be used unless the search_key is specified.
I'd like my server to remain public while I'm not using it, so I'd prefer the ms_force_dedicated option. The only problem is that it doesn't seem to work anymore. Every time I try:
ms_force_dedicated
ms_forcededicated
ms_force_dedicated_server
etc, the command comes back as unrecognized.
I can get sv_search to work some of the time.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? It seems valve keeps patching L4D and changing how the commands work but it's hard to find reliable documentation on how to accomplish this stuff. Am I stuck with sv_search_key?

I play with a couple of different clans, both of which have their own servers. Whenever the lobby leader has to leave, and some fool at Valve decides to put ME in charge of the lobby, the server force command I'm being given these days always seems to begin mm_force_, etc, etc, instead of what seems to be the old ms_ command.
Try that instead. Hope it sorts itself out for ya!I’m not funny, just a little under-medicated.
