Community Made GO Maps
So far there's a few map conversions of CSS or CS maps to GO making the rounds on public servers just after release day. If you've played any of these and think they are TG material, post them up and we'll create a listing of potential additions to a TG server's map rotation.

My opinion is that we want to keep a lot of vanilla maps in the rotation. CSS was killed by too much custom content, new players just don't have the patience to download hundreds of new files.

After Vulcan made a downloadable map pack, newer players didn't have much of an issue getting the custom maps provided they frequented the forums. I agree that a rotation would need a lot of vanilla maps however, but when a custom map came on, the brand new players were usually having such a good time that they didn't mind downloading the map when connecting.

What I meant was that new players weren't really joining in the first place because of unfamiliar maps.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for custom maps because honestly, most vanilla maps are really simple. However, to keep new blood flowing in, in my opinion we need to keep a lot of valve maps in the rotation.
If TF2 is any indication, Valve will take quality custom maps and make them official, so with any luck we'll be supplied with a steady flow of TG-worthy official maps.

Well hopefully some of these will get a TG server up and running. But I agree with Potshot. We could thread custom maps in as good ones come along. Then as our server grows with "new blood," we can post map packs when we develop enough of them. By then we should have enough regs to support it. There is so much "new blood" already anyhow. Right before CS:S died, I didn't know half the players anymore.
