Here's a new map, cs_mp_shop2, which is supposedly a remake of an older Soldier of Fortune multiplayer map. It's about medium sized with at least four different routes from CT spawn to the hostages. CT's can attack directly through the front or go around to the side of the building to enter through a side door or the conference room windows. It has an Office-esque theme to it. The only drawback is that the hostages are all located in one room, but there's a viewing room in T spawn that could serve as another location for the second set.

Despite what's been said about this map being a rush map, I think it's actually one of the more tactical and deliberate maps for CQC. Actually, I really don't understand why it is a rush map; the Ts stay where they are basically and the CTs will be easily killed in a rush Yes, the doors can be shot through, and yes, the Ts do have a huge advantage, but with VERY coordinated teamwork this can be the MOST fun CT map. You don't play it for balance, you play this for the difficulty. I believe we should add this to the server for the challenge. I really wish we would at least give this a trial run. One day if that's all you're willing to give, but I think it's a shame that we got rid of this map awhile back.The art of war is simple enough. Find out where your enemy is. Get at him as soon as you can. Strike him as hard as you can, and keep moving.

Downloading to look, but a comment from screenshots is that the rooms seem pretty open/plain. This gives it an unrealistic feel to me. Like it is newly bought and no one has really moved in yet. It seems to need more furniture/clutter to make it feel right, give cover... etc. Just my opinion until I can run around on it later tonight.

Well, isn't CQC often about speed and precision? Which will look a lot like rushing to some. Granted, moving slowly works also. But if your team is working well together and know how to do it, then moving in quickly with assigned areas of coverage would go well towards speed.

Edit: I made seperate posts for each of these maps for review purposes... cause I was bored. corse (or whatever it is) looks good. 747 could be good for a bit. Just not a very good LOOKING map. the shop map... eh... it looks unfinished. Very bare. missing doors, little furniture and the stuff that is there doen'st look well placed. Corse is huge, really huge (file size) so i decide to not put it in on the server. I can put it on but not in rotation.
We tried 747 for a while and it wasn't good. mp_shop2 looks interesting but we have quite a few new maps so i'll get to it eventually.Last edited by Vulcan; 04-18-2008 at 12:52 PM.

Two maps today. The first is the long awaited remake of de_vegas for CS: Source has been released today. This one goes way back to some of the early CS HL1 betas if people aren't familiar with it. T's are tasked with destroying either the main vault or the Sphinx outside the casino. CT's start on the A bombsite and have a 10 - 12 second run to make it to the B site. T's take about 15 - 20 seconds each to reach both the A and B sites. The general layout seems to be very similar to the original map. Might be fun to take a spin on.

The second one is a remake of the America's Army SF water treatment plant for hostage rescue. CT's can enter from two main entrances in the front or head around to a side entrance or rooftop entrance. Some areas of the map are quite dark requiring either flashlights or nightvision. There's an extensive vent system running the whole length of the map. The only drawback is the placement of hostages as they aren't anywhere near T spawn. You have to run anywhere between 10 - 15 seconds to reach them. That can easily be remedied though as there are plenty of good locations to move them around to.

Omg... nightvision will actually be useful???Some areas of the map are quite dark requiring either flashlights or nightvision.

Holy crap Assault two perfect finds. I'd say that these need to be tested right away. They both seems to be what TG is looking for in map quality. And yes nightvision would be useful on Watertreatment if almost nessisary.

i have never wrote any forums or threads so far so i thought id suggest that we move kismayo back into the rotation..
I've always loved playin on kismayo and now that i finally get the chance to play CSS again kismayo is gone..
my real screenname is Th3_TrOOp3r i have had this account for about the last 8-9months and love playin at your servers... i play every chance i get keep up the great work fellas
