    Re: Fallen earth?

I bought this game kind of on a whim after hearing some good word of mouth advertising about it. I've logged roughly 5 hours so far, and it's really fun.

So far, I haven't experienced any lag or crashes (other than the server crashing about the time I finished downloading the game off steam lol).

I really like the skill system, and have spent an inordinate amount of time using a web based character planner trying to plan my template. I don't think you have to be uber specialized but it appears you could certainly gimp yourself at high levels if you just spend your AP willy nilly. Like Frank said, you get AP's as you level and as a reward for certain quests. At the moment, roughly 20% of the AP's I have are from quest rewards.

Combat is fun so far. It takes a bit of getting used to having to switch into and out of aim mode, but after a little while I found I was doing it instinctively. Although the mob AI is simplistic, you can use terrain to your advantage pretty nicely. I could see that coming into play in PVP.

There are resources to scavenge all over the place, and for the most part the placement of them seems to make sense. I've been concentrating on just a couple of tradeskills and selling the unrelated scavenge drops. I just finished crafting a horse, and tonight the project will be riding around looking for the elusive wood I need to make xbow bolts

So far, money is a bit scarce, but the beauty of the skill system is that your character can be pretty self sufficient if you're willing to spend the time to gather mats for what you need.

The best thing about the game, in my opinion, is that it offers something different than most of the other mmo's out there. It reminds me of UO or Pre-NGE SWG somewhat.

    Re: Fallen earth?

So a friend of mine sent me a trial key for this and it's doing some kind of update that's gonna take a day or so. I'll be able to give it a try tomorrow night. Is there any kind of TG following on this? Feel free to post or PM me with in-game names so I can look for other TGers online.

I'm currently playing the game. Anyone who likes to try it out a bit can cantact me ingame (Rowdy Ronny is also my ingame name) and I'll recruit you into our training clan that way you'll have some better starter armor and weapons and also someone to ask questions to about gameplay mechanics. On 3 December i'm hosting a clanevent (My clan is called 1st Canyon Army) so everyone from Tactical Gamer is welcome.

PS : It's FREE TO PLAY now ! You can log in with the account you made and play ot for free (with a small annoying 'upgrade' button but you can ignore that)
