Re: Freelancer
Well, the official server is down at the moment. There was some sort of attack.

Re: Freelancer
Oh great. Sounds like kiddies trying to exact their hateful revenge for being banned due to their lack of general sense and inability to follow simple rules.
Would explain why the USA server keeps going offline the last week or so. Really disruptive when I'm trading or taking on a really hard mission.Acreo Aeneas

Re: Freelancer
I know what you mean, I was down in Omega 41 on a diamond expedition and was heading back to Kisairi space via Rhineland and the system crashed.
If the server completely dies and we have to move our characters to a different server, do we lose all of our unused weapons that are in our hold along with our cargo? I guess there goes $15 million worth of cargo, ammo, and weapons. Yes, I know it is odd to have enough weapons to completely arm 2 heavy fighters with level 9 and level 10 weapons and a freighter with level 5 weapons, especially when I am flying a gunboat which cannot use those weapons. I guess you could say that I was a weapons collector or even a limited business arms dealer...

Re: Freelancer
I would think they perform regular backups of the data so they don't lose it should something drastic happen like hardware failure.
Otherwise, there goes approximately 150 million credits worth of invested assets and liquid credits. Not to mention over 20 hours of combined play across my five characters.Acreo Aeneas

Re: Freelancer
I remember freelancer. I never even knew there were mods for it. Could someone briefly explain the details of the mod for me? I am suddenly interested in getting back into the game.
Thank you in advance.

Re: Freelancer
It is hard to explain...
"Year is 817 After Settlement (A.S.), 16 years after the single-player campaign of Freelancer, and one year after Discovery 4.84 took place. A Sirius-wide war is on the brink of engulfing the sector. While Kusari pushes its onslaught against Bretonia deep into the Leeds system, Bretonia attempts to surround Kusari forces in Tau-31. Liberty attacks Rheinland in Bremen and Hudson, and Rheinland has to pull back to defend its own borders. As if this was not enough, in late 817 the Independent Miners Guild encountered a large number unknown ships in the Orkney system. The ships belonged to a rebel group formed within the long-lost House of Gallia, the existence of which remained unknown for centuries."

Re: Freelancer
Well, here are some preliminary ones. Thought I'd wet your appetite with a little action first.

Besiege, you should post some too. I would love to take a better look at that Zoner GB. Man I wish I could fly one of those...
In order here...
1. My personal fighter engaging some Outcast pirate fighters after undocking from Java Station in Tau-23...

2. It's a "Nyx" VHF and here I am still engaged...

3. Finally got him. Boom!

4. Side profile...man she's sleek...

5. ...and deadly. She's fully loaded out to bear.

6. One of the gunboats in my player faction. Also known as the "Hydra" GB belonging to the IMG NPC faction side.

Re: Freelancer
I saw Crazy Dengoru playing on the Discovery Freelancer RP 24/7 for the first time in ages. I guess the hack attack is over for now...

Re: Freelancer
Who's Crazy Dengoru? Is that the person responsible for the attacks of late?

Re: Freelancer
Oh god, the memories. I remember playing Freelancer when I was just a wee lad. I still remember playing Evolution and that big Star Wars mod. "Freelancer 1-1, you are clear for dock" will keep ringing in my ears till the day I die.
