Re: Why Tactical Gamer NS isnt as popular as it should be
Cheating Death keeps out idiots, that's a proven fact. Although I do enjoy the ridiculous ease with which I wipe the floor with random pubbers, it gets dull fast, especially if they talk in any way. The low slot number is because NS blows at balance past 8v8 really, it's horrid. That's being worked on in B6, but don't expect miracles just yet.

Re: Why Tactical Gamer NS isnt as popular as it should be
Well, i agree that its not fun completely wiping the floor when playing with totally briandead pubbers, but i also feel that it is also not fun getting the floor wiped with your own ass as i so often see here on tactical gamer....
The gamers are really fun and interesting when 8v8, but when tis 4v4 or 5v5 its not even fun, aliens slaughter the marines almost everytime, this is why i would like to see the server full just a bit more than it is now... so i can see more of those vun 8v8's than those really sadistic 4v4 games that i usually play on TG.
I honestly would rather play a 16 on 16 game on a PUB than a 4v4 game on TG (as marines at least). But i dont because TG just helps you increase your skillz, and besides once your tied to a community its not fun to go out and play with just plain ol strangers.
Though one thing i would really like to see on TG is the original siege007, i'm not saying it should be on the map rotation, but it would be REALLY fun to see what it would be like to play siege007 with a server full of NS experts (as practicly everyone on TG is) and the cooperation and coordination that has come to define TG as a server.
I honestly havent played siege007 (and dont even think that experience exists) outside a noob-laden pub server.

Sure it is, you just need to find ways.

NS isnt all about running, gunning and comming. There are so many little games you can play. (Although playing these little games can really show how unbalanced the game is)

Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Zephyr: Apophis is clearly a highly sophisticated self-aware AI construct that runs on a highly modified toaster oven in Wyzcrak's basement.
