If you have the engine test you really should try out these LUA scripts for it:
http://github.com/Nayruden/ns2lua
more or less their using LUA to add to the engine.
Things they've added:
Ready Room capability
Simple Turret
Ablity to change to skulk, weldbot, and marine on the fly
Healthbars
Ablity to kill other players
K/D ratio
and other such stuff

Not sure if I want to try it out and get myself all excited again or let it go until closer to release.
