Re: How about some new alien tactics?
I was somewhat suprised that making a direct reference to the person responsible for thinking up unorthodox tactics for Andrew Wiggin would somehow go unnoticed.
Incidentally, sarcasm aside, you could easily (on Eclipse for example), wipe out 50% of the marines leaving spawn (given the usual 50/50 spread from spawn exits) then rush spawn with the skulks, parasnipe or overwhelm any marines as they spawn, then eat all their building bling. That would compensate for the other three marines building 2 resource nodes in the 30 seconds it would take for competent players to traverse the map and carry out the attack. Naturally the kharaa should then carry out a rapid egress to avoid the inevitable beacon and go and eat the two built resource nodes. Obviously a gorge would be useful to act as a field medic/ballistic support and this sort of strategy does rather rely on players being able to hit a marine with a hitscan weapon with almost zero cooldown. So irony aside, it is a workable, if audacious tactic that would leave marines at a significant morale and financial disadvantage. [Side note on parasite usage] Aside from the well discussed intelligence yield from parasiting and the useful BTK [bites to kill] reduction, there is a significant morale advantage. A parasited marine is usually one who takes much less care of himself, as most parasite marines are in a hurry to respawn as a stealth ninja again. |

Also, if a marine should come distanced from you during a melee, learn to parasite him AS you are closing that distance so that you're required to deal that much less damage when you're on him.

You have to admit, it would be the most amusing way to win a CAL final ever.
As soon as my new broadband is installed (from 24th December) I'll hop onto the TG server and see if I can convince some crazy fools to try it out. |
