This was brought up in the server earlier and I am posting it here for discussion.
Should a SM get the Pres of a kicked player when joining a full server? I was thinking the NS1 server was configured that way and Wyzcrak confirmed it. It seems like a fair move for the team to keep the Pres from that player slot during the existing game.
Ferris mentioned that the giveres command was nice too, so that could be up for debate, but personally I would think since resources for kill was removed from NS2 for balance reasons, that acquiring res should only be done via official methods. I imagine it would also be overkill for the joining person to spawn into a higher lifeform or with equipment, but in complete fairness (and extreme circumstances) , it would be harsh for a team to lose an onos or exo.
Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Zephyr: Apophis is clearly a highly sophisticated self-aware AI construct that runs on a highly modified toaster oven in Wyzcrak's basement.
IIRC if a player disconnects and rejoins, they get their res back as part of the game to avoid network issues that cause disconnects. Ignore the rest if that is incorrect.
If the player is kicked and rejoins, would they no longer get this res back?

Just because everyone does something does not mean that it is right to do.

I have had my game crash and when I rejoined a new game on the same map started. When I went the same team I had enough to go fade from the start. Scared the crap out of the rines. Don't know if I would do it again.
Eight months later I finally received the reports from three peer-reviews on my latest manuscript with the University of Toronto Press. This will be my third book with the same press and the second...
