Discussion: Natural Selection / Natural Selection - General Discussion - Congrats server is 20/20 - Either things are going really well with supporting members or the reserved system is not
Either things are going really well with supporting members or the reserved system is not functioning at this particular moment. I have been unable to get into the server for the past 7 minutes. I think we also went up a rank on game Tracker.
The server has been been acting very odd lately. Some things I have noticed:
sv_who works only sometimes - I used it when the server was 20/20 to kick an afk, but I only received SMs in the sv_who - also does not display the correct
the player limit does not work, 20/20 players when only 4 or 5 were SMs and SMs could not join ^ Solarity
sv_kick has limited usability if we don't know the player id number which is assigned who joins the server first. Easier to use ID number if it was displayed. Since I am always first to join server on a new mapload I can type sv_kick 1 and it always kicks me. If sv_who were to return player IDs based upon join order, sv_kick could be more useful.
massive kicks for no reason - usually upwards of 5 players at once - playing 10 v 9 earlier then all of a sudden 8 v 5
Something is messed up with the server. It sometimes fills to 20 slots and then randomly will kick about 1/2 the server which ends the round. Other times it will behave normally with a cap at 16.

Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Zephyr: Apophis is clearly a highly sophisticated self-aware AI construct that runs on a highly modified toaster oven in Wyzcrak's basement.
I discovered one among us who had a non-numeric value in his forum profile's NS2ID field, and I think that was causing the problem.
Please do continue to report any problems you see.
It's quite common for server browsers to report 20/20 while we're seeing 16/20 on our scoreboards. This means lots of people are in the process of connecting.

It is not often that I encounter across myself when researching a topic. I found the following in a recent article on the uses of ethnography in virtual environments:

Took a gamble and got a refurbished 30 GB OCZ Vertex 1 off of NewEgg for the low, low price of $30. Had some trouble getting the drive to be recognized by Windows or by my BIOS. Had to use a jumper...
It has been almost 6 months now and I am still waiting for the second peer-review report to come in for my next book (this one is on the future of television).
Things usually unfold faster than...
