You're narrowing the scope of what aliens could lose by a diversion PG and broadening the scope of what they could lose by an RT being dropped.

A diversionary PG could cost the aliens a hive, upgrades, and/or the node at the other hive where the "real" PG is going up.

Aliens don't aways lose res to this tactic. If aliens are playing how they are supposed to then the nodes will be those closer to home. If you can't muster two skulks that close to the main hive: that's your fault, not the game engine. So the gorge can sit there for a minute while the skulks kill the node, then cap it and cost the marines that early phase tech.

We allow it in practice until people request majoritively that we do not. No one will be convinced through discussion.

Then can we expedite the issue by starting a poll or something? I'm getting really tired of hearing about it and would like to see it put to rest.

If they ignore the facts: then, no they wont.

You think I like this tactic, or that I'd ever even use it? No, but just because I don't agree with something or don't like it (case in point: bunnyhoping) doesn't mean I want it banned from the server.

And what would the poll prove? If it's tipped by one vote to have the measure banned, should we ban it?

I think it's evident from this thread that most people do not want the behavior illegal.

I'm not sure whats worse, having this stuipd ass tactic exist, or spending 5 pages talking about it. oh well.

I vote for its total annialation from existance, because it is just a silly exploit of game mechanices that donesn't really buy anything but piss people off.

Being completely objective here. Personally I hate the tactic and wish it were banned. But it is a balanced and counterable tactic so the only valid reason to ban it is that it detracts from the fun of the game.

Just trying to clear it up, i still vote for not banning, but I do not like the tactic.

How widespread of a problem is this at TG anyways? I haven't seen it used at all.

I can see this tactic working well in a small game since there only a few marines capping res, but in a bigger game I done see the piont.

what is the point of arguing about this if nothing can be done to stop it...

what are you going to do? Make all nodes near hives unbuildable by marines at the beginning of the game?

I dont see any way of stopping it.... but if you want my 2cents

I carry the same opinion that many others hold that resources are precious to rines in the beginning of the game so that its O.K. to do so at your own risk....

though i admit, ive never done it early in games.... i do it way late in the game where it dosent even matter if i do it or not (its only one node left or something)
