Re: Captains Back to elementary school we go
I really like the captains idea. I also like how there's planning time so that the team doesn't run off like chickens with their heads chopped off

Re: Captains Back to elementary school we go
however the planning time seems to be filled with only chickens running around with their head cut off.

Re: Captains Back to elementary school we go
We need to start using tourney mode if we're going to have planning time. Letting the game start just confuses people.

Unchained disables itself for Tournament Mode because theoretically, tournament mode means a very specifically set-up barebones game.

Re: Captains Back to elementary school we go
Three weeks folks.
That's how long it could be before we get all the kinks ironed out with this whole idea. Or it could happen in a matter of days. It all depends on how busy the people who make this possible for you are.
Be patient and we'll get everything streamlined, I promise. Unchained will be resolved the way we want it (enabled), planning time will be comfortable and convenient, and simple. Team-picking will become more organizing. It just takes time.
These captains games are very enjoyable. Very enjoyable indeed.Steam Community? Add me. | Join #tacticalgamer | Search Results Legend | New Posts Forum Filter | Postbox Toggle | Live Thread Review | One Line Results | Free Remote, Encrypted Backup

Re: Captains Back to elementary school we go
BTW Who came up with this? I know it started because the aliens were tired of losing so much and games being so one sided but who brought up the idea of captains. All I kno is we must thank them.

Re: Captains Back to elementary school we go
Checking the forums, I came up with this idea in May. The idea of captains among friendly players who respect each other is not new, but this is the first arena in which I've been able to have that sort of gameplay among friendly players who respect each other.

Re: Captains Back to elementary school we go
The captains scrims are great. It's like nspug except with lots of poeple you know and have fun with all the time. The mini scrims we setup are awesome becuase they require even more coordination than in normal pubing on the server. I love it

Re: Captains Back to elementary school we go
I like the idea. I haven't played with that yet, but looking forward to it.
Do you do it a lot?
how are captians picked? what about teams? I'm assuming that you would want to know ahead of time when picking teams? Also, who commands? captiain or whomever the captain says?
I like how it is done in GR. everyone on the team can nominate someone for captain. The dude with the highest vote count gets it. Since everyone knows everyone, they vote for people other than the same people every time, but since its a voted thing, so n00b doesn't get it unless they decide to.
We need to hire a full time small programmer.... and I don't just mean "size" either
