how come we don't have enough people in the community?
it seems that team-fun has alot more ppl than there are of TG ppl. just wondering, who came first? and how did they promote their community so well?
i'm definitely sure it's not because of someone writing a promotional article about their community.

Who?

That's who he's talking about.
Nightfire, there are some servers that a LOT of people ping low to, and I think that's one of them. Add to that the fact that the server's been there a while, and you'll quickly find that as a destination for a lot of NS players. Plus, it's one of only a few servers available online that offers 24-player NS with respectable pings.
To compare our server to theirs truly is comparing apples and oranges, on so many levels.

Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Zephyr: Apophis is clearly a highly sophisticated self-aware AI construct that runs on a highly modified toaster oven in Wyzcrak's basement.

No thanks.

with our tweaking of the server i believe that it could handle 24people, but the fact is its just too messy.

10-27-2003, 02:11 PM #7Currently anyway. I'm really hoping that when Half Life 2 comes out they port NS over, and take advantage of the MUCH larger maps that HL2 supports. Not to mention the great physics and graphics

It's not a matter of space, it's a matter of organization. And a larger map won't help. Maybe something else will, but I don't know what it is. Managing teamwork, at least on the level our NS server spoils us with, is rare (blah blah blah not impossible) with more people than our server accomodates currently.

...
I think the server size is good as it is. I think games over 9v9 would be too hectic, heck I dont like playing 9v9s anyway. My favorite match ups happen 6v6 - 8v8, beyond that it gets messy.

I love gaming, mmmmmmmm

If you don't think the community doesn't have enough members, make it your job to enroll more. I'm currently working on enrolling a few of my good friends to play here and get a membership.
And actually, I still haven't gotten a membership yet. I just got a debit card, so I should be getting my membership soon.
