Guess I'm a goob, then...NS is the only game I play here. It's all I have time for, for Pete's sake!!!

I keep telling myself I'm going to branch out...
Me too. Apparently we're in the same boat.
Maybe when my 3-month-old gets to highschool or something....

Question: Is endorsement-seeking something that should be done? Or will the members be making lists on their own?

Because I'd love to be endorsed, but I don't want to go begging if that's not going to be the M.O.

If I were looking for an endorsement, I'd be sending PMs to the people who I knew enjoyed my company on the server. As long as you don't ask over and over again, I don't see the harm in that.

Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Root: Welcome to TG. Feel free to punctuate your sentences correctly. Monkerz: Its gonna take all my skills to beat those boys off in the future.

With my feet in the air and my head on the ground...

Anyhow, it seems suspicious to me that with the advent of reserved slot-dom, the traffic on the server has gone down. Hm.... HMMMMMMMMM... anyone care to speculate?

(other than Nothing who's response would probably be "Because my skill scared them all away")

He's going to say it just cuz I did, isn't he?

... I blame it all on TR

Maybe recruitment rewards... not endorsements, but someone getting someone else to get into TG.

I'll offer my recruitment bonus to the person who can fix my car and buy me a TG membership!
=p

Anyhow, Is there a way to sorta tie the servers together... like... have the two TG NS servers up, one passworded, the other open, but in the event that:

1.) The public server fills up (90-95% full)
-and-
2.) The people in the server are all paying members

The server adds a password on it, known by the paying members, and unpasswords the other server sort of like an overflow server... I'm sure some members would still play there... well I'd hope at least

BTW Now that 3.0 is back I can remove my focus from school and back on NS =p

Food for thought, does the NS community have enough paying members to justify a password server to go along with the public server?

No. We certainly have the regular playing base, but the NS demographic doesn't cater to TG's financial model. We certainly have young players who cut the mustard when it comes to TG's gameplay standards, but these kids don't have jobs, or sometimes even an allowance. Many of them are full time students.

If you sum the membership fees of all of the NS server's member "regulars", you have about enough to rent a non-discounted NS server from TG. In addition and independent of those players, we certainly have enough regulars to make a public server worthwhile. I'm not sure exactly what "justifies" two servers, but we've only got one at this point. We had two, but the box they were both running on wasn't strong enough to manage both.

So far, my software that manages reserved slots is the best solution I've come up with. It allows us to give reserved slots on the public server to players who regularly meet TG's gameplay standards but are unable to accomodate TG's financial model while preserving the paying member's ability to always get on the server, even when it is full.

Without more paying members, I think this is the best solution. And trust me, I wish we had more paying members. We certainly have the interest around here, and I would LOVE to have two NS servers.

I know that is why It's no longer up, but It would work. Maybe in the future, I've been gone for a while so im 'out of the loop' as far as this goes. But the idea would work. I'm just throwing out ideas.

I also feel TG should have a 'single game' option giving full member privaleges to a user for a single game. I'd pay like $24-36 for a full year possibly, but This is a whole other discussion entirely. =)

Theres alot of ways to get things to work, everything just needs to be set on the table and discussed.
