Re: If NS was text-based.
One of the most embarrising ways I've ever died in a game was being killed in a game like that. It went something like this:
"You enter a large room, made of wood. To the south is a large double door, lined with runic symbols. West is a wall covered with a mural depicting something you would rather not have seen. East is a window into a fiery abyss." look window "Looking out the window, you see a fiery landscape, covered in violent shades of flames. Out of this window appears a red butterfly." look mural "The mural depicts a scene between two demons, you'd rather not take a closer look." "The butterfly begins to flap around you" look south "This is an ornately carved double door. Indecipherable runic symbols cover it." "The butterfly begins to flap it's wings ominously at you" open south "You open the southern door" "The butterfly moves closer to you..." south "You attempt to go south, but are prevented from moving by the butterfly" Kill butterfly "You attack the butterfly, and barely scratch it" "The butterfly attacks you... You die" (sorry for going off on a little tangent, but I just had to tell this) I can now imagine this scene happening with a gorge... |

Re: If NS was text-based.
Fenix, actually. I can code that for you, if you want. I've done Q-BASIC, which is what you'd need to use to make that game real. It's easy, in some parts, but some of it is confusing.
Mostly common sense. IF say=yes SAY "You suck"... It gets into loops and stuff. That's where it gets confusing, but not bad. I did V-BASIC too that turns stuff into like the OLD Atari games. A dot and some bars? All the same things... It's not that hard, I can try and find you a compiler and tuts if ya want. PM or xfire me. -Mom |

Re: If NS was text-based.
Coding something like this would be a fairly large undertaking I just don't have the time for. The combat system alone would piss me off to no end. I had enough problems coding a D&D THAC0 system for my TI-85.
