Strive for realism
I have a few questions. Besides setting the color mode to 32bpi, and setting draw_hud to 0, how else can I make it feel more realistic?

Re: Strive for realism
Isn't there some map pack you can download that makes the levels look a lot better?

Re: Strive for realism
I realized last week that my gamma was somehow at 3.0. Someone recommended I turn it down to 2.5, and this has resulted in a slightly darker and much scarier environment, which I like.
(everyone's gamma will give different results, but.. on my monitor, 3.0 = bleached out images, which was bad)Steam Community? Add me. | Join #tacticalgamer | Search Results Legend | New Posts Forum Filter | Postbox Toggle | Live Thread Review | One Line Results | Free Remote, Encrypted Backup
Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Zephyr: Apophis is clearly a highly sophisticated self-aware AI construct that runs on a highly modified toaster oven in Wyzcrak's basement.

Re: Strive for realism
You know, I thought about pointing out that we're walking around spaceships with aliens. But Sniper knows that. He knows it's fictional. But he wants the metal to look like metal. The guns to look like guns. Back off and help the guy out.

Re: Strive for realism
There's a thread on the official forums about making the lighting more atmospheric. Just do "lightgamma 5" on the console and they get darker with more contrast in the lights. The screenshots there are dead but try running around ns_bast with it.
