With the player list I no longer see smurfing as a problem.

In fact I see this plugin doing nothing to help the people who do violate the spirit of tg, for they will just register under a weird forum name and people will not be able to identify them that well.

Those who are honest and occasionally change their name seem not to be on the list.

SMs should be immune because their forum name is always trustworthy and whois'able.

Oh and mind sending me a list of all the names i've been under might be interesting to look.

I do not see this solving a problem. If someone is constantly changing their name every game and people ask that person to stick with one identifiable name for a bit and they don't, they sure as hell won't register on the forums before just sticking to one moniker.

If a regular/SM is tripping and starts changing their name a billion times, a simple whois or playerlist will allow all players to know who it is with almost zero effort.

The registered player who very rarely changes their name is the only case I can see that brings about confusion (which is shouldn't due to the whois command) which is ironic because they seem to be immune to this plugin.

The functionality you speak of will not be removed.

Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Zephyr: Apophis is clearly a highly sophisticated self-aware AI construct that runs on a highly modified toaster oven in Wyzcrak's basement.

I play under a LOT of names. Almost are easily recognizeable. :P I generally LIKE people recognizing me.

But the whois functionality is great for those rare occasions I want to play as "Jump In The Pit!"

But this would ruin another "Night of Ferris Bueller" moment! (one night 2/3 of a full server was Ferris).

    I remember this thread.
"Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one conciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we're the imagination of ourselves. Here's Tom with the weather."

It was more than that snoog, at the pinnacle, we had 15 out of 16 players named some variation of me. It was nice. I also noticed that everyone had an especially low k:d ratio that game...how interesting.
