Re: our public 3.2 server
Does that mean you guys will spend more time on it, or just wait for the final version? lol

Re: our public 3.2 server
Yea server down, that was a good game to. We did a DC first then SC second combo and it was a lot of fun. We put 3 DCs behind the cargo hive which basically healed the hive fast enough on its own to repel 3 sieges and lots of pings. They could only finish it off once the team rushed it along with the sieges behind them. Cool

Only 2 sieges were hitting

Re: our public 3.2 server
The server currently kicks people to the 3.1 HLTV server, which just gives you an error. Can we disable that? I'd prefer to get a "Server is full" without going through a load bar.

Re: our public 3.2 server
I think I've got the HLTV redirection fixed.
The number at the end of the hostname, when the server is flooded with guests, is not working at all. I'll get that fixed, but it may take a couple of days.Steam Community? Re: our public 3.2 server
Hey Wyz, I know you probably have enough work to do on the server already, but I'll suggest something.
You know how when you are dead in 3.2b1, the name of the guy you are watching while waiting to respawn does not show ? Well, I think it would be easy to make a little mod so that it shows in the same way "welder" or "grenades" showed in the 3.1 server.
Not really necessary but still I find it uncomfortable not knowing who I'm watching. Mainly because I like to spectate the better players of my team so that I may learn something

Re: our public 3.2 server
Honestly I think we should go ahead and move the main server over to 3.2. The build is basically finished, the fact that it's a beta is little more than a technicality. I don't think anyone will really miss 3.1, and it'll be easier to fill the server up in 3.2 when we're using the main IP.

Re: our public 3.2 server
There's a thread in the ns.com forums about seeing who you're spec'ing when you're dead. It's an ugly hack (and the author acknowledges that), but I'd like to hear some feedback on using that (and, failing that, I'd like to hear more people complaining about something) before I write any plugins to fix a problem.
Zek, a build between this one and final release could quickly make today's separation between 3.1 and 3.2 desirable. Something to consider.
FWIW, I'm satisfied with the amount of playtime I'm seeing on the 3.2 server (and the quality of that 3.2 play, but that's for another thread).Steam Community? Re: our public 3.2 server
Sure, but we're not obligated to install every patch. If the next one is somehow too buggy then we'll just stick with beta 1.
And if the consensus is that 3.2 is better than 3.1(and either way we're all gonna be playing it eventually) then I don't see the point in having two servers. Half the regulars don't know we have a public 3.2 server running just because the original is still there. The only reliable way to fill it up is to play 3.1 until the server fills up and then get people to switch over, and I'd rather just play 3.2 the whole time.

Re: our public 3.2 server
Zek - I think the idea is that TG will host the 3.1 server until the 3.2 is no longer a beta.
We have been given an option by Wyzcrack and Poker to host a second server so that we can get a bit of playtime in, and test it all out. With TG full of so many good players, and even a few in the development of NS, I look at our time on the 3.2 server as an open window to the next non-beta NS release.
Not everyone is happy with 3.2beta1 so far, and not everyone will be. But when the things that need to be fixed with 3.2 are, it will be released as the final release and I'm sure that our main server will switch over then.
I hope to get 3.2up monday night and a chance to look at the server and do some playing around.Ambriento for comm! Vote today!Yes, in some games I think NS is nothing but a well-managed set of minor miracles. - Wyzcrak

Re: our public 3.2 server
You're right; we're not obligated to install every patch. But if we take our main server and move it, it has to move along with the rest of the community if we want to see players at all.
Right now, we're lucky enough to have a second server for the beta, and I plan on abusing that luck as much as possible.
