I must say, this thread casts quite a different light on several of you.

Re: I scour teh interwebs....
ln(-1) = -ln(-1)
ln(-1) = ln((-1)^(-1))
ln(-1) = ln(1÷-1) or ln(1/-1)
ln(-1) = ln(-1)
Or you can...
ln(-1) = -ln(-1)
ln(-1) + ln(-1) or 2ln(-1) = 0
ln((-1)*(-1)) or ln((-1)²) = 0
ln(1) = 0
Unless I screwed something up in there, that works just fine. Granted, the natural logarithm of a negative number doesn't exactly work out very well, but then, thats when you add in...
ln(-1) = 2ln(i)
2ln(i) = πi => (doesn't show up very well...) => Pi * i
So, you just take everything as the power of e and do a little finagling and you will wind up with:
e^(πi) +1 = 0
You were there, just needed to take the next few steps, granted, I'm cheating a little by already knowing what 2ln(i) is equal to, but anyways.
By the way, why did this become about euler equations?

Re: I scour teh interwebs....
Hey cool, thanks for showing that to me.
The next link posted after Charlie's blog was an old "educational" video from the 70's about Pi. (Although it looks to me like it could be about a drug trip just as easy...) One of the user comments under the video brought up that equation.

Ok, maybe it wasn't made in the 70's, but you gotta admit it looks like it's from the 70's. Perhaps thats just the natural result of having a low production budget?
