Re: On Democracy, and Question Marks
I'd never code it. It has all the same flaws I was hoping to correct with the original cocomm; one team stomps up and down on the other, and it goes downhill from there.

Re: On Democracy, and Question Marks
Note to admin staff: install breathalyzer on chop's computer so he cant post or comm while drunk.
to the point though, I'm all for removing combat from the server altogether. I've noticed that the server only really starts filling up around 5pm eastern anyway and usually stays full or close to it until around 1-2 in the morning. after that, the population drops to about 7-9 and within even 1-2 rounds of combat its completely empty. We used to have a smaller playerbase and used combat to fill up the server during lulls, but we dont seem to be having that problem anymore. As a direct result, the amount of combat we play is very limited, certainly not enough to merit a specific plugin IMHO. As stated, my opinion is to just scrap CO altogether and leave it as pure NS.

Re: On Democracy, and Question Marks
While the communism plugin is fun, and pity points are pretty crucial, what if we just ramped up the distribution of pity points more, and across everyone.
If I remember correctly, the old pity point system, only catches you up to your team a bit when you're trailing behind. But what if both teams get ranked, and then the pity points could be distributed from there; This way, you still get rewarded for being better, but no one is being left in the dust as far as XP goes. So, for example, no one would be more than 3 or 4 levels behind the leader, or something like that. ... It'ld prolly be a be-atch to code, and crash the server, but I think it'ld be better.... for whatever it's worth. |

Re: On Democracy, and Question Marks
removing combat all together i don't think would work out all to well, while it is true that the server fills up at xx date or xx time still the majority of Q marks join on combat and stay for the NS. Lushes system sounds interesting but that is all the 'pitty point' mod is, just gives you XP if your behind so your levels are even while people get higher and more levels, also spreads out a medium where your not top and not getting any pitty points.
Since it won't pitty point you up to the highest it normaly doesn't pitty point you up to the near - lowest but not you level... Meh. At any rate, removing it i think would be a bad idea, can't play bots on NS mode (any cohearent bots) and if you want to start populating the server it would have to be sitting all by your lonsome on a NS map heh. and 1v1 or 2v2 NS doesn't work so well.
