As a reference, i'd direct you to the KustomKarnage servers, which is where Masked Carrot, who codes the bots, does all of his testing. On NS maps there is a standard time limit, as well as on co maps. This keeps the games from dragging on forever. You'd also be surprised to see how much the bots actually win on NS maps. Its an excellent place for honing your comm skills as you have to be extremely quick with drops and structure placement.

I'd like less dialog on "what I want/prefer" and more critical thought applied to the question "what most quickly gets us to 6+vs6+ NS. That's the end goal, after all, I'll say.

Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Root: Welcome to TG. Feel free to punctuate your sentences correctly. Monkerz: Its gonna take all my skills to beat those boys off in the future.

Quickly? Combat, Quality for some people? NS

Combat will always be quicker for the sheer fact that people search CO_Faceoff as a map to play, while small NS games people will join and leave at a whim depending on the situation. As i said, i stand by Combat for small games.

Re: Vote: Small NS or CO?

I disagree. I find that an NS game with 3-4 people actually draws NEW people in pretty quickly, while the CO games tend to stagnate. Further, the type of people we are looking to attract are the ones who will stay after you switch to an NS map...and if they only joined cause they were scanning for CO_Faceoff, chances are they wont stay for the NS round anyway. You can easily lose 1/2 your population in 30 seconds after switching from CO to NS.

Re: Vote: Small NS or CO?

It only draws new people some times, depending on map and how badly marines / aliens are being owned. Imo, people are more likely to stay from switching from CO_Faceoff to NS_Tanith, rather then from a badly owned NS game to another one where people mainly join the same teams. Also, all talk is on in CO, and you get to know people better and people might be interested in staying if the like the people their around to have teamwork and an enjoyable enviorment...

As for NS filling faster then CO i think that depends on the time of day, sure the waiters for the server on NS will join only when it is filling and on NS but CO is still a baisis with which to start, imo.... Unless some one can find or make really good NS bots.

Re: Vote: Small NS or CO?

I preffer to play a small NS game and I know for sure that more people will join up soon. So in my opinion just take combat off the map cycle
