Re: Family
I've definitely used NS to escape my thoughts before.
micro:
In about a week I should be back quite a bit more...
It's finally almost summer, and I'm finally almost done with this year of classes.

its a great way to relieve stress just by working as a team, and winning or losing.

Re: Family
You know, I think we all need a place to vent sometimes. Someone to tell us what we need to do it and how we need to do is always useful. I've been in and out of crap all my life, until my most recent relationship. I kind of grew up after she left me, but I more discovered myself.
I've been living happily ever since, and I don't know why. Nothing can get me down, and I fully believe that it's because I know who I am and what I want. I walk around every day seeing people depressed and hating their life, and the only thing I can think is that they're wasting it. We only have about 80 years in this body. Most of you are about 20, some of you older, which means that you've knocked off at least 20 of those 80 years.
Now look at that and tell me how much of a waste of time it is to be depressed or worried.
I seem to be a source for women to vent their problems these days. I hear about abusive boyfriends, both verbally and physically. I hear about parents beating their daughters, and abusing drugs to the point that they can't afford food for their families. The only excuse to be depressed that I can really feel sorry for for these women are the parents. They can't help that, and I can understand that. But I'm seriously starting to believe that women have no sense of reality when it comes to choosing men for relationships.
My point is that I've become extremely good at listening and giving advice. You guys are more family to me than anyone has been, save my grandmother. If any of you ever need anything, be it to talk or just to have someone to listen, you all know how to get ahold of me. I'm no psychiatrist, but I am a realist. I'll be blunt, a lot of times, so before you come to me, be ready to be told like it is.
At any rate, I'm here to listen if anyone needs it because I'd like to know that someone is there for me if I were to ever need them.
Cheers, guys.

Re: Family
guys, unless playing video games makes you sad and depressed, you're going against the grain of what he said. the point is that we only have a limited amount of time on this earth and you should spend yours with a smile on your face. if that means climbing mount everest, go for it. if it means hours and hours of plugging skulks with your lmg, we'll be seeing you on the server.
gotta do what makes you happy. happiness is never a waste of time. never let anyone convince you otherwise.

Re: Family
Ferris is right. I realize that some of you are younger, and you're lucky to be that way. If you're still in high school, or just starting college, I only have a few words of advice for you. Don't waste it.
Make SURE that what you're doing isn't going to land you a job that you hate, because if you end up hating what you do, then you will end up hating every day you wake up.
America, and most all other civilized nations, have a way of pretending that life is easy here, and that you can enjoy everything here. It's not true. It's EASIER and MORE ENJOYABLE but it's definitely not easy at all.
I love this country, but I hate it at the same time. The price of living these days is on the verge of insane, but I'd rather be trying to make a living here than dealing with tyranny in another country. There's a quote from a song that says "So you call this your free country, tell me why it costs so much to live." I've never heard anything so inspiring in my life.
Of course, we all know there is a difference in freedom and gas prices, but the fact still remains. It's hard out there these days, and if you're not doing what you want to do, then it's a waste of your time, and we've already discussed that.
Ferris couldn't be any more true in his statement. Happiness is never a waste of time. So, for those of you starting the foundations of your life, remember that it's always more important than video games, and women (or men). Don't waste your time on things that aren't eternal at a young age. Figure out what you'll be happy doing in 20 years, and then set that as a goal for your life. Otherwise, it's all a waste of time.

Re: Family
I've come to accept those things as conditions that will always be there in some form, but are controllable and don't need to be life crushing. How you get over those things or cope with them in a positive way is what matters. Now look at that and tell me how much of a waste of time it is to be depressed or worried.
Bingo. Hah! Try telling that to some of my ex's!gotta do what makes you happy. happiness is never a waste of time. never let anyone convince you otherwise.
Also, much <3 out to ambriento, that's pretty rough but time marches on amirite?!
