Re: Save Internet Radio
Yeah. Check out youtube for some of his interviews / debates. He's got some good views... truthful ones at least... as long as you let him explain them fully. When you hear he thinks the civil war shouldnt have happened it's easy to write him off as nuts, but his reasons for believing it make sense once he's given time to explain.

Re: Save Internet Radio
I'm watching some youtube stuff on him...
Sure seems to be how you say it.
He says he wants to "empower the people". That's crazy.
USA is not supposed to be a democracy!
He wants to legalize marijuana too?!
I can't figure out if he's just trying to appeal to the majority of people by saying these things, or if he's actually for it.
With what I've heard so far he is appealing to the gays, the stoners, and everyone who doesn't trust our goverment.

Re: Save Internet Radio
Read into Ron Paul. He seems really genuine (Mike Gravel genuine too but a bit crazy). Ron Paul has been getting more media attention too and both of them look leagues ahead of any other candidates.
The legalizing marijuana will never go through, but if you think it out it is much better than the state of drugs currently. By legalizing marijuana :
a) Gov't makes tons of money.
b) Gov't can regulate dosage.
c) Gov't makes sure it is not laced.
d) Small time drug dealers (read: tons of suburban gangsta wannabes) actually get legitimate jobs.
The arguement against goes something like 'Gov't condoning the use of marijuana' . Main points against that argument is that it will NOT get people who werent interested in the first place to try it.

Re: Save Internet Radio
yeah, it'll probably never happen but that's not my argument to make cause I don't know crap about politics. the problem with the gangsta wannabe's having to get jobs is, at least in my neck of the woods, there are no jobs to get
i sometimes wonder how much the illegalization of marijuana promotes its use. i know when i was younger and big into drugs i, admittedly, did it because my friends did it. my friends did it because it was the cool thing to do, and it was the cool thing to do because you weren't supposed to do it.
i don't know if it's true or not, but the foreign interns i've worked with from countries which have no age restriction on alcohol are more responsible with it than many 21 year old Americans i know. maybe it's because they had a head start, maybe it's because Americans including myself can be naturally irresponsible, or maybe it's because it's not a taboo where they're from and as a result not such a big deal.
basically, a modern day james dean should get on TV and start eating vegetables, and all the youngin's would be snatching up all the broccoli they can find.

Re: Save Internet Radio
Before you get too interested, make sure you agree with his economic views:
H.J.RES.23 : Proposing an amendment the Constitution of the United States relative to abolishing personal income, estate, and gift taxes and prohibiting the United States Government from engaging in business in competition with its citizens.
Sponsor: Rep Paul, Ron [TX-14] (introduced 2/7/2007)
I for one would like to still have a government that funds science, education, infrastructure, etc, and as I don't think government can do this without taxes, I would not support Ron Paul. He has run for president in the past as the candidate of the Libertarian Party, and it seems his views are fairly consistent with their platform, so that would be a good place to look to learn more about him.

Re: Save Internet Radio
I was watching some videos on Ron Paul...
For some reason I just don't trust him.
I think he just gives off the vibe that his beliefs will not match mine.Last edited by blu.knight; 05-22-2007 at 10:21 PM.
