Switching maps between every round is inherently unbalanced, since not all maps are even between marines and aliens. It's fine to do 2 on one map, and then 2 on another, but 1 half on each of 4 different maps could get ugly.
I think you misunderstood me: what I was trying to say is play a single game on each map of the captains choice.

Wow, sounds like (based on the 5/3/07 posting in the referee-only thread) there's a bit of animosity amongst the tournament participants. Great to see the results post turn into an editorial.

Whoa whoa whoa. My entire post in that thread iss tongue-in-cheek. The whole thing was an attempt at humor, and absolutely none of it was supposed to be taken seriously. I made a faulty assumption that everyone who would read it would know that I'm extremely sarcastic and that I meant it to be read that way.

The first bit was entirely true: Micro and I were there to referee but we both had to play because it was the very first match and there weren't enough people if we didn't jump in to. Because of that I have absolutely no notes about what happened, and I didn't even think to get a screenshot of who was playing on each team. Micro and Chop gave me a ton of leeway on getting my post in (I should have submitted it Monday) so I wanted it to be longer then one sentence.

I couldn't actually give substance since I honestly can't really remember anything besides me spitting Pipeline which almost caused us to lose Cargo. So I figured if I couldn't educate, I would attempt to entertain.

I forgot that sarcasm doesn't transmit very well in a written form, but I think I also guessed that everyone reading it would know me well enough to assume that I was just being my usual self. That was a poor decision on my part and I'm honestly really sorry that I gave off a bad impression about how I feel about the tournament or anything else.

I didn't get the sarcasm at all, Rampage. You're not alone.

I just figured the angst of us picking on Jazz all this time had finally caught up with him.

Glad to hear things are going smoothly enough.

Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Jazz, I thought your writeup was hilarious. Although I too am a robot, unlike Rampage and Wyzcrak, I have feelings.
Cool! Personalized plates! Barclay, Barry, Bert, Bort...come on...Bort?

Actually after I posted my clarification this morning and was driving to work, this (sort of) occured to me too. Last week, and even Sunday when we played our matches I was acting really ragetastic while on the server. Several people commented on it to me during the week and I knew that I was in a bad mood and was going to argue with everyone (even more so then usual).

I'm sure that anyone who witnessed me spazzing out in-game and then also read that post would think I was on the verge of a mental breakdown or had crossed into the "internet = serious business" mindset.

I was going to go that route (which is where the "I, of course, was like 50-3 for both halves" came from), but I had to leave it as-is or I would have been late for work.

First would it be possible to change the colors in the Results post? I'm colorblind and I can't tell the difference between "Won" and "Lost" at all.

Second, because the original names and chosen names have been both used could you change the Header for each team on the Roster Post to something like:
    Original Name Chosen Name Tag

    ala:
    Team Gamma Clone aCtG.Name
    micr0c0sm
    Maps and Atlases
    Kamakazzee
    ....

Team Delta Chuck Norris Delta Force Squad C.N.D.F.S. Name
    Radix
    Tookeh
    xtcmen
    ...
    etc

Sorry I missed the sarcasm, but I'm relieved to hear that was the intention. Things looked a little too intense for a minute there!

What colors can you tell the difference between? I am currently using red, green, yellow, blue. Can you tell if something is green vs. something that is black? I can just remove the red.

I will update all the scheduled match posts with the team tag when they are submitted so it should always match up (though until all teams submit names there might be matches of 'Eta vs. CNDFS' .

The black works much better, thank you.

And since I can't find it; how are semi-finals and finals going to work in terms of maps and number of rounds? I'm assuming we will be playing a full round on two different maps (for a total of 4 halves), correct?

Cause right now for the finals it looks like both team's get to choose a map, are they allowed to choose anything in rotation, or are they limited to the other maps played in the season? And then with the semi-finals Origin is listed as the first map and the second says Captain's choice. But obviously there are two teams, so will they have to agree on a second map?

    You are correct on everything.
