Making the captain visually distinct in the readyroom is fine. Making the captain visually distinct in the actual game starts to be questionable, especially if its a distinction that interferes with your ability to hide.

You could keep the distinction during the pre-game planning time though.

Yeah like how the icon pops up over the player talking, do that for the captains that way in game only your team mates can see who is captain.

I think a simple reskin wouldn't be too bad.

Also consider, anyone who joins the server has to download the graphics files for whatever modification you are using. I don't see any way to intelligently predict whether a player will need the files on this particular game while joining, so that means EVERYONE who EVER joins a TG server has to start by downloading our custom Captains images.

Therefore, it should be a very small file.

I'm just guessing here, but I'm thinking a complete reskin of the LA marine, HA marine, JP marine, Skulk, Lerk, Gorge, Fade, AND Onos in one pack is going to get a little intensive on the file-size.

As long as we have fast downloads ( which is really just ONE line in the server.cfg ) it will be uber-fast so no worries there - they are relatively small files.

I've added a display of captains names in the readyroom.

Also, say_team "<node" now puts your own note as "node" once you're on a team.

    Lol? Not to criticize your efforts wyz, but I think maybe you've lost it . . . "/note beo node" +code +testing +etc = "<node" and a grand savings of (drumroll please) . . . 9 characters! Assuming I'm dropping a node, which in a 6v6 would be approximately . . . 1/6 of the time.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I wouldn't have ever done something very similar in many situations, I just think its funny.

< also fixes non-unique matching names. it may save you 9 chars but is simpler to explain to people and saves me valuable breath.

I like this. It goes on my list, even if with a low priority.
