    It sounds good on paper "oh, now they know to get serious" but once a team has it in their minds to screw off for the first 10 minutes while the other team ready's, the game is irreparably damaged from all the chitchat. I'd rather let the captains choose between a fast ready (for when they really want to play hard) and a slow ready (for more casual games).

    Slayer, like a command, post-/captain, that captains can use, only while all players are still in the readyroom (let's get this out in the open if it's gonna happen, right?), that imposes the, say, 7-minute timer?

Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Zephyr: Apophis is clearly a highly sophisticated self-aware AI construct that runs on a highly modified toaster oven in Wyzcrak's basement.

    i'm down with that. we train 'em up using /focus and after a while it won't be necessary.

    Ooh, I like. Let me propose a small refinement: Currently the captains names are displayed in the ready-room in the same fasion as Notes are displayed once you join a team. Use the same format as the notes plugin, letting the captains set themselves a note in the readyroom. If both captains set the note "focus", or whatever simple word is desired, then a timer of the desired length starts as soon as both captains join teams.

    EG: I type "/captain", my name is displayed in green to the left. Then I type "<focus" to set my note, and my name is displayed with the note "focus" in the readyroom. This lets the other captain see I'm requesting the quick ready time. If he also puts "focus" as his note, the ready-timer will start as soon as we both join teams. If he for some reason doesnt want to hurry up, he wont set a note. Once I join my team and the timer starts, I can change my note normally without affecting the timer.

    first things first, we need to get the pirate hat in place NOW. priority 1. and an intelligent voice/text recognition plugin that interprets something like "build the sieges" to "make ready the cannons, yarr"

    with regards to the timer, i think it's a good idea. i've been in a few where the planning took longer than the game itself and that's sort of dumb.

    i vote 5 minutes from when one of the captains first readys.

    the immediate problem of "what if one captain immediately readys" is better solved by them not being stupid than it is by trying to incorporate some kind of guard against it

    It would be nice to have something that prevents the top two picks on either team from being slotkicked.
