Re: Map Request

So there was no feedback on this thread, but overall people seem to be pretty happy with the rotation. However there has been some grumbling so I went ahead and made an update that could be considered. The primary changes are:

1) collapsed the number of places where combat and ns merge down to 3 so that the "nextmap" command will work more frequently. I also made Veil, Ecipse and Tanith the "entry" maps when switching from co_ to ns_ (sigh)
2) removed co_daimos from the rotation as many people's PCs really can't run it well
3) upped the required players on bast, machina and shiva to 15
4) doubled the frequency that eclipse, veil and tanith appear (sigh again)

let me know what you think
Code:
co_faceoff "\minplayers\0\maxplayers\10\"
co_ulysses "\minplayers\4\maxplayers\10\"
co_angst "\minplayers\8\maxplayers\10\"

Re: Map Request

I don't like the double frequency idea. I see no reason to make the most overplayed maps even more overplayed. I'd prefer to keep the last mapcycle, it's really not that difficult to type 'votemap' in console to see what the next ns map should be.

Re: Map Request

i think a lot of that was because nearly everyone on the server had been on for a while.

Re: Map Request

Well, if you want a new map to try, I just released the 'final' (no longer beta) version of Nexus, found here.

Its a vast improvement over all of the previous versions; pretty much every complaint has been addressed. No room-over-rooms, confusing areas were completely redone, the flow was drastically improved (the door outside MS to Nexus is no longer a weldable, its a button), the minimap has been cleaned, coloured, labelled, and given all appropriate transparency options... Yeah. Try it out :P

Agreed. I'm content in leaving it the way it is, barring those players coming and posting their thoughts about it on the new mapcycle. Those who take the time to come to the forums and post their reasoning have more weight than the blanket "tanith\veil\eclipse please!" while on the server.

I've removed co_daimos from the mapcycle. Player count left at 14 for shiva\machina. Bast raised to 14 players.

If you like Jazz, work that 'nextmap' magic on this list and I can get that in the cycle.

It probably won't be added to the mapcycle unless more people want to try it out on a regular basis. Regs, here's your time to chirp in. It can always be played currently by getting a temp admin\admin to switch it manually, and if others don't mind playing.

Re: Map Request

I enjoyed the final nexus and wouldn't mind playing it more often than some of the maps in the mapcycle.

What's the map name listed as on the server?

Re: Map Request

ns_nexus_v1 i believe.

can we lower round time so that we don't end up playing the same map twice? really if the game is longer than like 7 minutes there's not much draw for a replay, and it sucks to have to play some maps twice.

Re: Map Request

I'd also like to see nexus in the mapcycle for a while, I'd like to play it more often. Given the complexity, it seems like a map that will get better as we play it more often and learn how it works.
